Question:
Further to my post of a couple of months back intimating new titles in this range of promo films - I have just received an email from BMW - 'Hostage' is due any day, 'Ticker' (Nov 7), 'Beat the devil' (Nov 21).
Details can be found at www.bmwfilms.com
:)
Oooh are any by Chris Cunningham or feature Boards Of Canada's music like the current car in swimming pool one?
Ooops sorry confusing this with the BMW adverts!:o
Missed all about these the first time round - but after seeing a few now I wandered are they available on DVD - you know with 5.1 sound and the like ?

Used to be that they'd send you a DVD of the films + extras if you just asked for one... Don't know if they are still doing it though.
I've dropped them a line through the Contact Us section to see if they're sending out DVDs again this year. Hope so - would be good to see what John Woo and Tony Scott have got up to!
I've got one to trade (minus Wong Kar Wai's film...)...

Let us know, I'd be very intrested in a copy. Just been watching a few of the older ones and their pretty good.
Does anyone know why you cannot download 'The follow' directed by Wong Kar-Wai?
Good find - quite enjoyed them!

Forrest Whittaker refused to grant permission for this film to be available in any format other than an internet stream - if u can now no longer dload it then he's went even further - I down loaded it in about March.

Can someone host it - or is that naughty. I'd love to see it.
PS if you choose USA as your country on bmwfilms.com you can get the 'Enhanced Film' (in quicktime) together with commentary. Nifty.

www.clieflix.com have The Follow in Kinoma (Palm OS) video format which is where i got a copy from - they also have Chosen, Star, Ambush and Powder Keg.. were these all the ones from the first DVD or were there more?
Anyone know if the 1st Trailer for Hostage is available in a bigger format than streaming muck?

I've heard about these a year ago but never actually went to the website, stupid, now there is no The Follow. Is there a PC version available anywhere for download?
BMWFilms is fast though, I got stable 151k, 119MB of Powder Keg in 12 mins!
Beat the Devil is gona be great, Gary Oldman and dir by Tony Scott
Do you reckon the new films will also get a DVD release....
I have the first DVD and they're excellent - I too have the Wong Kar-Wai one, and it's one of my favourites - though the best is by Alejandro González Iñárritu, IMHO.
Can't wait to see these- They were better than some blockbusters!
John Woo's "Hostage" is available now
Available to download (65Mb) for Media Player or it can be streamed with Quicktime, RealPlayer.
There is also an option to hear his commentary!
Just got a notification email about the Hostage as well, boo on WM player, I got quicktime, 106 megs and it has a nice interface, commentary too.
It seems you get different download options depending on which world region you choose.
Choose the US if you want the 101Mb Quicktime version.
Looks like I need to download it again.
Pah, typical the site is down at the mo. Won't let me d/l the 101mb Quicktime version.
I have a feeling this thing is going to cause me a headache what with all the different format etc

Yeah, it's so typical of them, release both versions in US but only windows media in UK/Europe, and not tell you, so now you gotta download it all over, but at least they include commentary right away, instead of announcing a special edition download a few weeks after you've already got the barebones file. :oh-hum:
Forgibe me if this already on the movie forum, not had a look in there yet but Dave has put 'The Hostage' for download on his site here.

I've added the Quicktime version to my site as well. I'm currently downloading that myself, though I have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the WMV file.
 for the film too, not great, but better than some of the stuff John Woo has done since moving to the US!
Just seen some of these and they are great! Hopefully another one out soon!
Clive Owen for bond!!
Only just watched these fantastic short films! (Got them from daves trailer page)
I love the way they are all so different, highly entertaining stuff. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone knows if a new DVD was released or if they are still unavailable?

There was a DVD of the 8 short films available up until last year. They stopped selling at the end of October iirc.
I bought one then but haven't gotten around to watching it.
It might be worth clicking on the link on the first page and contacting BMWfilms to see if they've got a copy left.
