Question:
20th Century Fox is trying to convince Bruce Willis to star in his fourth episode of the popular "Die Hard" movie studio, despite the actor vowing that "Die Hard With a Vengeance" would be his last portrayal of New York cop John McClane.
However, Fox has Willis in a tough spot. His studio wanted to call his next film "Man of War," but Fox owns rights on the title. And Fox will only hand them over if he agrees to make Die Hard 4.
Fox is hoping that Die Hard 4 would be as popular as its predecessors, which have earned $137 million, $237.7 million, and $354 million respectively worldwide, and helped make Bruce Willis a household name.
...isn't Mr Willis (born in 1955) getting just a bit long-in-the-tooth for this type of role...?...

no. :)
So much for him not making anymore action movies ... maybe he realised his comedys are crap! :D
According to the Hollywood Reporter (as reported by IGN ) Willis has agreed to it
The problem when they effectively blackmail actors into re-prising roles is that it shows on screen that they aren't very interested in doing it.

And Arnie is in his mid 50's is the best man to play the Terminator and Harrison Ford who is around the age of retirement is fit to play Indiana Jones again? :p
Willis could do another 2 Die Hards and you wouldn't notice his age IMO
Anything that prevents him from singing swing jazz is a good thing imo.
To be honest even though this is obviously a cash in movie I still would love to see it.
I love the John McClane character and as long as it is as violent as the other films with lots of swearing and quips and a half decent script I would be happy!

Where's the Moonlighting reunion, that's what I want to know?
When the Devil skates to work, and the cow jumps over the moon.
Who would you want to direct though?
McTiernan back on board? His recent output has been quite terrible, but A man that has Predator, Die Hard, Hunt for Red October and Die hard: With a vengence to his name, is obviously talented.

PLEASE let there be a Die Hard 4.
Die Hard is my favorite film ever, and i'd love to see another, if its crap, i'll still buy it!!
I hope Fox mail out a bigger cardboard slipcase for my DVD boxset if they do ;)

That is one crap title:lol:
part 3 was pretty awful. Whats the betting part 4 involves muslim fundamentalists?
Cool, another Die Hard movie...
He only agreed when Fox made him take a glance at the cheque for starring in it. proberbly $20-$25 million!:rocker:
If your offered money like that, you can't be stupid enough to turn it down.

I don't think any of the Die Hards are bad
Die Hard with a Vengence is not as good as the first two, its too far fetched even for an action film, way too OTT.
Oh god and that bloody awful use of music halfway through - i forget the title, but its just so out of place, Kamen what were you thinking??
Oh and the end is stupid aswell.
So basically its stupid, though its quite a good concept, just poorly concieved...
Definately bring-on another DH film!!
I`d like to see another DH movie, but, how many times can the same guy "accidently" encounter terrorists? (Yes, before you post, Hans Gruber says "Who said we were terrorists"), but you know what I mean.

it's just a film, it aint exactly realistic, i mean what are the chances of a guy going to his wife's xmas party at work only for terrorists to turn up that very night? ;)

Bring on Die Hard 4.
Where's Hudson Hawk 2.:D :notworthy :rocker:
Based on sound advice, I never even saw Hudson hawk 1
A bit off topic here, but what was that film where Willis played a 6 foot pink bunny?
Everyone told me that Hudson Hawk was crap so I never bothered when it came out.
Since then I borrowed a VHS copy and I found it quite fun and worth a watch.
May buy it one day if it is available cheap enough.

Problem with Die Hard 3 was that it was written for the Lethal weapon series and that shows. The introduction of the Sam L Jackson character to satisfy the 'buddie film' nature of the script was at odds with the style of the first two films.
Still, I enjoyed it as a film in it's own right and just tend to forget it's a 'Die Hard'.
I think Die Hard 2 is my least favourite of the 3!:dork:
The thing about Bruce Willis in Die Hard is that he doesn't rely on brute force as much as Arnie and so can still do that sort of film as he ages... albeit with less physical aspects
Roll on Die Hard 4 :D
Aged actors are in sequel-mania
Harrison Ford in Indy 4
Arnie in T3
Bruce in DH4
I love the first Die Hard, I don't think though I'd be very enthusiastic about a fourth in the series since the sequels weren't as good as the original. There's already been too many copies of the Die Hard story, such as Under Siege etc.
Die Hard 10/10
Die Hard 2 7/10
Die Hard with a Vengence 8/10.
