TOP 5
Jennifer Lopez ....... all arse & no talent
Juliette Lewis (ok in 'Strange Days' though) ...... see above but without even the arse
Emma Thompson ...... that jolly hockey sticks personna she conveys on screen is sooooo irritating
Martin Lawrence ...... plumbs the depths of Eddie Murphy's worst performances then goes lower
Chris Tucker ....... Q. Tarantino spoke for us all in 'Jackie Brown'
While I wouldn't automatically avoid any film because of the actor, I would generally find that I will give a wide bearth to any films starring:
Sandra Bullock
Penelope Cruz
Olympia Dukakis
Judi Dench
Tom Cruise
Russell Crowe
I agree with all the actors mentioned in this post..should put them on a rocket to the sun or something..
Tom Cruise
Julia Roberts
Sandra Bullock
Martin Lawrence
Drew Barrymore
Nick Nolte
I cant believe no ones said (unless I missed it

Just can't bear 'em.
I'd agree that Nicholas Cage seems to be a poor parody of himself recently, and I'd personally pretty much avoid any of Harrison Ford's output for the last 10 years (sadly) on the basis that its all *****.
However, Nicholson, O'Toole, McKellan? All quality surely!
Mind you, don't think you'll have much problems avoiding Olly Reed's current/future output............
Gizmo - It's just an opinion but...
Nicholson - all his characters seem slimey and half-cut
O'Toole - hams it up like the worst of 'em. Over the top and far away!
McKellan - too self-important and preeny.
Couldn't believe how good Reed was in Gladiator... utter shock.
I actually think Julia Roberts s great ! (in most of her films, Erin Brockovich, Pretty Women, Runaway Bride, Notting Hill), but not Mary Riley - what was she thinking?

and the Laydeez hit the top! :(
You would have to pay me to see a movie starring either Tom Hanks or Will Smith.
Never liked Jodie Foster either (though I have to admit that I liked her in Panic Room!)
Can I have another nomination please.
Denise Richards - SHE CANNOT ACT. AT ALL.
Oh, and on that note Liz Hurley (though she's OK in Austin Powers and EdTV)
Don't like Randy Quaid either - I don't think I've seen him in a film where he's not been annoying.
Oh please! How on earth can Tom Hanks be higher in that list than the great Austrian Oak - the most shocking thing is he gets paid more per film than anyone else on the planet - the man has made nothing of worth, T1+2 were ok but True Lies is damn good fun to watch, apart from that only Commando is good for reasons we all know. Though it does seem that he is an intelligent man who made the right career moves by surrounding himself with some great directors, Cameron, Verhoven and McTiernan basically. But people remember these films i think, despite him and not because of him (although i do admit it would be hard to imagine anyone else as the Terminator)
Same for Martin Lawrence and Freddie Prinze Jr - i can only assume you people enjoyed Scooby Doo and Big Momma's House.
A lot of the Hanks bashing seems to be because he is succesful and its always been fashionable to not like him, i have yet to see a convincing reason why he isn't likeable, i doubt it's because hes a bad actor (he has two little friends who say otherwise) - so if someone would care to enlighten me.
As for my choices:-
Russell Crowe - The man is an ok actor, which is what we're basing this on i suppose, but as a person i think he's an idiot.
Liz Hurley - Now SHE has no talent whatsoever and has been nothing more than wooden and awkward in everything she's done.
Freddie Prinze Jr - Wing Commander, I know what you did last summer, Scooby Doo - need i go on.
Martin Lawrence - I actually enjoyed Nothing To Lose, but Big Mommas House and Black Knight really are bad.
Arnie - called him that because i can't spell his name, well then lets see - Last Action Hero, Kindergarden Cop, Red Sonja, Junior, Jingle All The Way, Raw Deal, End of Days, Collateral Damage, The Sixth Day, Running Man (despite some great one-liners) - need i continue.
J-Lo - I dont like her either simply because of the choices she made before and after 'Out Of Sight' and despite her very good perfomance in that film, i have yet to see anything else in which she convinces me that she can act - though i hope Jersey Girl turns out to be great.
BTW - I think DiCaprio is a really good actor who has yet to show the viewing public of it (though he is good in The Quick and The Dead, Basketball Diaries and Romeo + Juliet - and he is outstanding in What's Eating Gilbert Grape)
never seen a film with that Di Caprio bloke in it thats it tho, i dont avoid films with any particular actor/actress in it theres i few i dont watch (Julia Roberts for example) but thats generally because i dont like the kind of films there in.
Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Jim Carrey, Martin Lawrence, any Tom Hanks, Nicolas Cage or Harrison Ford from the last 10 years. Meg Ryan, Gerard Depardieu (that since childhood). Liz Hurley is not even an actress to me, Uma Thurman barely qualifies. Richard Gere, Adam Sandler. Arnie goes without saying as do Seagal and Vandamne. Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer. Mel Gibson quickly coming up into the list too.
Robin Williams is starting to turn the tide back with Insomnia and especially One Hour Photo though.
I MIGHT see a film with one of the above, but there need to be a VERY good argument for it (Director+theme+another actor I like)
On the other hand I'll see anything with Russel Crowe in: you might not like the guy but at least he can bloody act. Also will watch anything with Clooney (well except Batman & Robin, but then there's Arnie in it).
Spacey on the other hand was my fav actor just 3 years ago but is in danger of making the unwanted list, hope he gets his acts together.
OK, adding my two-penneth!
Helen Hunt
Wins an Oscar and yet is really no better an actress than Jennifer Aniston IMHO!
I might not fully avoid the films she's been in, but I've only ever appreciated one scene that she's been in and that had more to do with a wet shirt than her skill in front of the camera :norty:
Similar with Liz Hurley. Only 2 good things about her on film so far!
Nicolas Cage
Julia Roberts
Gwyneth Paltrow
Martin Lawrence
Sly Stallone
I'd rope in these few who's output of late has been highly suspect too
Harrison Ford
Arnie Schwarznegger, not that he was ever a good actor! :D
John Travolta
Michael Douglas - I can't stand him
Tom Hanks
Kevin Costner
Tiny Tom Cruise
Jim Carrey
Robin Williams
Julia Roberts
I don't actively hate them (well, maybe a little), I just don't think they are anywhere near as good as THEY think
:p

And where're the quote boxes? Ah they're back!
Adam Sandler (Wedding Singer) - And people think Jim Carrey is crap?
Keanu Reeves (Point Break) - Strangely Irritating.
Here a few of my pet hates who I avoid:
Julia Roberts (one reason why I haven't seen Ocean's 11 yet)
Leo Di Caprio (glad he went down with the Titanic)
Richard Gere
Jennifer Lopez
I think most of them have a way too much overated opinion of themselves. I mean they are only actors after all.
How could i have forgot Adam Sandler !!!!! :(
Sandra Bullock by a mile for me too :)
Hate the wooden Sean Bean and am not fond of the recent Arnie films although love the earlier ones.
I agree about Adam sandler
Will return when I have had time to think :)

But I try to avoid anything with Adam Sandle and Ben Stiller in - they just aren't funny
Oh, the Helen Hunt thing..... Though you'd know what I meant!!!

Yay! Hairy armpit woman is winning.
Can I add a vote for Hugh Grant? I hate the 'bungling ****' character he plays in all his films.

Jennifer Lopez ....... all arse & no talent
Juliette Lewis (ok in 'Strange Days' though) ...... see above but without even the arse
Emma Thompson ...... that jolly hockey sticks personna she conveys on screen is sooooo irritating
Martin Lawrence ...... plumbs the depths of Eddie Murphy's worst performances then goes lower
Chris Tucker ....... Q. Tarantino spoke for us all in 'Jackie Brown'

While I wouldn't automatically avoid any film because of the actor, I would generally find that I will give a wide bearth to any films starring:
Sandra Bullock
Penelope Cruz
Olympia Dukakis
Judi Dench
Tom Cruise
Russell Crowe

Jack Nicholson
Bette Midler (recent one where she's a psychiatrist)
Ian McKellan (LotR (just), X-Men)
Peter O'Toole (Lorry of Arabia)
Oliver Reed (Gladiator)
Just can't bear 'em.
I'd agree that Nicholas Cage seems to be a poor parody of himself recently, and I'd personally pretty much avoid any of Harrison Ford's output for the last 10 years (sadly) on the basis that its all *****.
However, Nicholson, O'Toole, McKellan? All quality surely!
Mind you, don't think you'll have much problems avoiding Olly Reed's current/future output............
Answers:
Gizmo - It's just an opinion but...
Nicholson - all his characters seem slimey and half-cut
O'Toole - hams it up like the worst of 'em. Over the top and far away!
McKellan - too self-important and preeny.
Couldn't believe how good Reed was in Gladiator... utter shock.

I actually think Julia Roberts s great ! (in most of her films, Erin Brockovich, Pretty Women, Runaway Bride, Notting Hill), but not Mary Riley - what was she thinking?

You would have to pay me to see a movie starring either Tom Hanks or Will Smith.
Never liked Jodie Foster either (though I have to admit that I liked her in Panic Room!)
Answers:
Can I have another nomination please.
Denise Richards - SHE CANNOT ACT. AT ALL.
Oh, and on that note Liz Hurley (though she's OK in Austin Powers and EdTV)
Don't like Randy Quaid either - I don't think I've seen him in a film where he's not been annoying.
Answers:

Answers:
