Question:
Right, don't know if this should be in the TV forum, but I just saw the advert for the DVD of Oceans 11, and it gives away a huge spoiler!
It shows all the guys in their swat team uniform, which is the twist of how they performed the heist!!
I ain't even seen the film yet, and haven't seen that ad either - yet.
Bloody typical to give away a major plotline, for almost no apparent reason.
Why can't people who do the trailers sit down and watch the film first?

Because when trailers get released the film usually hasn't been completed.
Maybe so for the cinematic release but not the dvd! :brickwall
Sounds almost as bad as the menu for The Shawshank Redemption which gives away the ending.

The DVD snapper case for 'You've Got mail' has the final shot of the movie on the inside of the cover, which kind of gives away what'll happen in the end.
Yes - I DO own You've got mail, and I'm not ashamed to admit it :|
Thats fair enough you've got to have some films for the missus/GF ;)

It's right next to other quality items, like:
Anne of Green Gables:Collectors Edition
Pride and Prejudice
and the obligatory
Bridget Jones Diary
Wish my LOTR boxset would get released a bit quicker ;)
I hate these stupud DVD Menus that have clips of the Film in them.
Ive seen a few of these but cant remember them of the top of my head. A Late one was
We were Soliers. (The Speach Bit) Not a spoiler but annoying when it gets to that bit in the film. doesnt have as much affect.
Anyone think of any others
Theres an article in Empire bout how the "Ballistic" trailer shows the sequence of the main baddy getting killed
Scorpion King trailer I sw on TV the other night had practically the whole ending in it.
Yes,....but how do you know it gives away the ending unless you've seen the film?
I saw the Oceans 11 ad and if you haven't seen the film the split second clip means absolutley nothing when it's not in context with the film.
Infact more people will have had it spoiled by this thread than the ad.
15 Minutes had a major part of the plot in the menu

You remember bits from the trailer when you are watching the film though, which can spoil it as you know what could be coming up. It doesn't take much effort to editors to use their head when creatng trailers.

I'd be amazed, nay staggered if any one had the plot ruined by that trailer.

Me too, mate, along with Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry met Sally and Hanging Up. I'm a stranger to shame :)
Whatever happened to suspense?????
If the trailer doesn't give away the ending, the review tells you the plot! Avoid these and some prat on TV spoils it for a punchline.
Get as far as the DVD release and you think you are there, 2 hours of edge-of-the-seat tension before a big surprise and what happens?
Animated bloomin' menus!!!
