Blade 2 DTS Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!
Question:

Just got it from Play and it's awesome!! What a great movie and the sound WOWWOWOW!!! I loved the story and I loved the xtras. I surely hope Blade 3 will the light somewhere in 2003 or 2004 :rocker:

I didn't like it :( (or the first one for that matter)

watched it last night - thought it was a very good action pic, less good as a horror film - enjoyed it though. You actually got the impression this time round that Blade is superhuman, in the first film most of the time he could have just been a very strong fast man but in this he gets thrown around like a rag doll and still keeps ticking. One downside to all the OTT fights is that the bits it goes all CGI are fairly obvious and detract from the experience for me.
good enough though, I'm going to watch it with the commentary now.

yeah i noticed the CGI was fairly obvious at the start where he floats down Batman style, but then i realised it suited the film perfectly - comic book style . Much like Spiderman, i thought the CGI effects in that were obvious too.

I saw this the next day after Resident Evil, and needless to say I didn't like it either, but just because RE is such a superiour movie and went to my Top10, but on its own, I think it's pretty good and balsy for a big budget movie, but they dropped a stone on using the "clean" version of The Name of the Game by Crystal Method, though Ecks vs Sever got the original one!

watching the doc afterwards made me think the film musta been considerably better than the one I'd just watched!
I really enjoyed the first movie, but it seemed like someone asked a group of 13 year old linkin park fans what they liked most about it to make the sequel....
..get rid of the stereotype for every occasion "Blood Pack" and introduce some P-A-C-I-N-G and there is a good film in there somwhere though...

I loved this movie.. excellent DTS 6.1 :smokin:
Good as an action popcorn flick..
Oh Lenny you really can't be serious saying Resident Evil is superior? It's an ok film but nothing special at all..

Blade II rocks. Period.

didn't like it as much as the first film and both are pretty dross when you think about it... soundtrack on Blade 2 is fabulous though - suddenly noticed I had rear speakers :D I take it I'm the only one that has had a problem with the DTS though? mine went completely out of synch after the layer change had to switch to 5.1 it was so bad

RE was way superior to this. Was very messy and poorly directed compared to the 1st. RE was unexpectedly well directed, paced and all round a perfect game to film conversion for me :)

I too noticed this while watching the R2 round a mate's house - but I put it down to the numerous 'herbal cigarettes' that were being passed around. Now I'm pretty certain I did spot a bit of dodgy lip-sync on the dts track. And as for that layer break itself, I haven't seen one as jarring as that in a long time. At least it wasn't Eiv's fault this time - it's in exactly the same place on my R1 version.

My R1 has been watched on 4 different setups and no problems with the dts soundtrack...

NO WAY!!
Being a massive fan of the games this is not the Resident Evil film I wanted to see. I am not saying I didn't enjoy it because I did but George Romeros script was far closer to what I wanted from a Resident Evil film than what Anderson produced.....

Didn't think much to it to be honest.

thanks for that... wondered whether it might have been my 'el cheapo' player but it isn't something I usually have problems with.

mj, in the latter part of my post I was commenting on the horrible (identical) positioning of the layer break on both the R1 and R2 versions, not the dts track. The sync slippage on the R2 is EiV's fault it would seem, as the R1 is perfect.

Resident Evil better than Blade II. Nope doesn't compute...

Got this from Play today, The lip sync is perfect on the DTS track before and after the layer change. I also got it in the standard 2 disc amaray case not the beefy 4 disc case like other peoples.

I found some of the imagery in Blade 2 a little OTT - mostly the "House of Pain" sequences. Blade has the edge for me as the OTT CGI is just too distracting. For sound though - Blade 2 wins hands down. Absolutely amazing
