BOTW - How many disc?
Question:

This could be a stupid question, but...
Is there a 2 disc R1 version of this film? The reason I'm asking is that I received this this morning from DVD Soon. I'm sure when I ordered it, it was a 2 disc version. I just looked at DVD Soon and there is no mention of a 2 disc version  . I've also checked Rewind and the DVD Times review, but again, no R1 2 discer. Was I seeing things when I ordered? If this is the corrcet version, then I'm happy as it's the v.f and I didn't want the 3 disc set. Could someone please confirm this for me. Thanks.

...ahh... afaik there's NO two-disc release of this movie on R1/US DVD... there's just the one-disc release and the three-disc release...
...perhaps you got a Canadian two-disc release?... but... no! there is no 'two-disc' Canadian release... just the single disc and the three-disc one...

There is a French 3-Disc release with no English subs or dubs...
But there is definately a Canadian (R1) 3-Disc release with English and French menus, English and French features (subbed) and English (DD5.1) and French (DD5.1/DTS) audio tracks. Unfortunately the audio commentaries are not dubbed.
There is no US/UK 3-Disc. Just the standard theatrical cut with subs and/or dubs (choice of French and English audio).
I'm pretty certain that's correct...
I'll check a little later when I have time :).

...all of which, of course, doesn't help poor, flabbergasted Highlander with his apparently two-disc set (ordered because he "didn't want the 3 disc set"...
...Highlander: are you quite sure you have a two-disc set???... not a three-disc set???... or a three-disc set where one of the three slipped out accidentally and got lost???... or a one-disc set that just LOOKS like it's a two-disc set???... is the set's COVER in FRENCH ONLY???... or is it in ENGLISH ONLY???... or is it ENGLISH+FRENCH???... did you perchance get a two-disc [whispered] bootleg release???
...I'm sure all readers of this thread, myself included, are waiting with bated breath to see this mystery cleared up once and for all!...

As I understand it Highlander has received the Canadian (v.f) 1-disc version, when the order was placed he believed it had been for a 2-disc version. He does know about the 3-disc version, but didn't want this one.
The question was 'is there a 2-disc', ie. has he been supplied with the wrong version, or did he just imagine this when placing the order or perhaps specs were changed from those listed when he ordered.
To which I think you've already supplied the relevant info, ie. There is no 2-disc version.

"...There is no 2-disc version."
...HAH!!!... from the review of the R2 DVD on the bbc.co.uk site:
...There is a special two-disc edition of "Brotherhood of the Wolf" out which can only be purchased in the UK from HMV, and was not available for review purposes...
...and HAH!!! again...

HAH there is no 2 disc version available from canadian dealers HAH since its an HMV exclusive and He ordered from DVDsoon in canada :oh-hum:
Speaking of which there seems to be a debate about the anamorphic qualities of the canadian release as some reckon that it suffers from artifacts on larger TVs due to excessive compression due to the additional English dub reducing available space on the DVD ( see B&B discussion) (http://www.bulletsnbabesdvds.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpBB_14&file=index&action=viewtopic&topic=5072&33) ) though someone reckoned it was fine on their 32" TV so maybe its a decompression software problem.

Just read my post again, and it's not very clear is it!! Yes, I did receive the 1 disc Canadian version, but I thought I ordered a 2 disc version. So from what I read, this is the correct version from DVD Soon, if I don't want the 3 disc version, and a 2 disc R1 version does not exist. I must have imagined it. Thanks for clearing this up.

you can get a 1 disc Canadian ?
is it the DC ?

Answers:

"...is it the DC ?"
...erm... I thought (but, as so often, I may well be mistaken!) that every DVD release of this movie, regardless of where it's from and regardless of whether it's the single-disc version or the three-disc CE (or the HMV two-disc Special or, for that matter, the upcoming four-disc UE), carries the DC (which is some 8 minutes longer than the theatrical release - the movie was 'cut for time')...
. . . . . .

Answers:

AFAIK only the French and Canadian 3 disc releases have the extended cut.
but i was wondering about this 1 disc Canadian (if there is one).

The 1 disc version I have in front of me has a running time of 152 mins. I believe this is the DC, is it not?

yes that is the DC. I think Theatrical is 145 mins.
where can i get the 1 disc version ?

Answers:

I got mine from DVD Soon. It cost me just over £10, but I did pre-order it. It's probably gone up a bit now it's been released.

Answers:

can i get it anywhere without a credit card ?

Apparently the canadian 1 discer is identical to the 1st disc in the 3 disc set. I'm not sure if the one at play for £13.99 is the canadian 1 discer. It looks like it is since it shows a different cover art to the US one, and doesn't mention the deleted scenes that are on the US version.

no problems here with the SE on a projector... guess it maybe specific dvd players or mpeg encoders.
Full Tense, the play 1disc dvd is the US version, the futureent one for £13.99 is supposedly the canadian one.
