Question:
Thinking of ways of going through some of my growing number of DVDs I thought of this concept, have a movie night. Ok I know it’s not a very original concept, but I thought of making a structure. First it will be 5 movies. It should keep the format, One Classic, one unknown, one funny, one scary, and one cult. Of course overlap is expected. Any more than 5 and it would be difficult to invite more than the very hard-core viewers ;). So for my very first attempt at this, the follow is the movies that I thought would be interesting.
Godfather I (get the heavy stuff out of the way first) note the movies get
lighter after this as concentration wears down.
Donnie Darco (have yet to see it)
Idle Hands
Evil Dead (Book of the Dead)
Brain Dead (Where Peter Jackson, aka the other Lord of the Rings dude,
first started. Great for a laugh)
What do you guys think of the concept and the movie list?
What would your list be?
Racking up more than 10 hours viewing in one sitting is pretty hardcore if you ask me :|
I'd through in something light - just watched my BTTF and it was even better than I remembered

Ain't seen Bad Taste or Meet the Feebles, huh?
Saw Bad Taste years ago but not yet on DVD. Thought it would be a good way to start the morning:)
Have yet to see Meet the Feebles. I gather its on similar level as Bad Taste?
"I'm a Derek and Dereks don't run!"
Meet The Feebles is the Muppets on crack
A five movie night should be:
Guess Who's Coming To Dinner
Love Story
In The Heat Of The Night
Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill
Smoke

And that can only be a good thing...
Best to delay seeing it as long as possible  :D
I was trying to remember what 5 films I saw overnight in a cinema about 12 years ago. I remember Flesh Gordon, Near Dark, Reanimator and Day of the Dead, but I can't remember what the other one was. Coming out at 7am on a Sunday after all that was a little odd.
Flesh Gordon is a movie I would not mind seeing again :norty:
My 5 movie nighter;
Young Girls Who Like Girls
BabeWatch 7
Dangerous Tides
John Doe - The Luckiest Man Alive
Barely Legal vol 2

Not seen that, though Braindead is one of my favourites.
Brain Dead
What exactly is this film like? Seen it has Bill Pullman in it, and looks fair mad from the screenshots on the back of the case
Worth buying this weekend?

It's a low-rent film reminiscent of Jacob's Ladder - the only redeeming things I found about it are the stars: Bills Paxton and Pullman, and Bud Cort!
It is a badly-written mindedit

Sounds great - I'll buy it tomorrow!
