I've got tickets for the 23.00 screening of Ichi the Killer at the Hyde Park Picture House on Saturday night.
By the way, cheers for starting this thread - wouldn't have known about the festival otherwise.

So what did you think of ichi the killer, good, bad or disgusted but entertained?
Personally i thought it was a bit gratuitous, normally i wouldnt find this a bad thing but i think the japanese have got some real sexual repression issues they need to work out....not one im going to search out.
opinions?
Oh yeah where were you sat in the cinema?

Answers:

I wasn't disgusted, just disappointed.
The splatter was too repetitive, the cgi really dodgy in places, the characters (with the exception of Kakihara) totally forgettable, and the "plot" derivative. Worst of all though I found it rather boring. Also the way that Ichi kills is totally pants. Some of the comedy was quite amusing and Kakihara's antics were occasionally entertaining, but not enough to make me want to sit through it again.
Oh yeah, I was sat on the balcony, second row from front.
