Can anyone help?
I've already got the Perfect Collection (Thanks DVDSoon!) but do I need both movies?
My understanding was that Death and Rebirth summarises the series and has some of episode 25 on?
End of Evangelion has episode 25 and 26 on?
Do I need both movies from a story (not completist) point of view?

Oh maybe you could help me, I have preordered The End Of Evangelion on R4 DVD, I'm currently following the series on Sci-Fi... Now is the dvd the last 2 or 3 episodes? (I'd guess 3 episodes worth as running time is 87 mins) in which case I'll avoid the final episodes on Sci-Fi.
Or is it something seperate, set after the series? Cheers

Watch the series through. Never try and watch the movies without having seen the actual ending of the series. Death & Rebirth is part recap and part new ( episode 25 I think ). End of Evangelion is Eps 25 and 26 in a new light. Neither the series ending nor the movie ending is possible to dismiss. Watch both.

EoE is the true ending as quoted by the director himself.
the original last two eps were like that becuase of financial reasons, but once eva finished they marketed it like hell (well no need to really as it was so popular anyway) they came into money and crafted the ending he really wanted to do.
