Question:
Has anybody seen the case the EIV are going to put Blade2 in?
This has to be a new low for EIV.
I also see that they are going back to using those crappy silver looking disks with the title printed on it, i thought at least after the release of LOTR that they were going to start putting pictures on there disks but alas no.
At least we now know what kind of case they are going to put the 4 disk release of LOTR in.
If you have not allready seen it go to the R2 project site.

UNCLEEEEEEEEAN, UNCLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAN!
sorry about not putting the link in
forgot.

Holy Sheeeeeit ...
I mean ... Holy Sheeeeeeit.

Am i certainly glad i've got the R1 ....good old New Line!
big deal about the disks, does it really matter that a disk has cover art? If this means that the majority of EIV stuff is 9.99 2 months later in HMV then great.
The 4 disc box is still miles better than warners early atempts at a 2 disc set and if people look after their disks then i'm sure there won't be a problem
IMO I think thats much better then the little rubbish bracket in the middle of the case. Im not sure about the 4disc idea though.
Still a great film with an extensive array of extras.:)
You can't really go wrong.
:shocker: ...........................................:shocker:
:shocker:
Bugger I've got the R2 on pre-order at Play - from the sounds of it my chances of not getting a rattler are minute. :oh-hum:
What i can't understand is, Why are they putting a 2 disk set in a box that is designed for 4 disks?
It makes no sense what so ever.
As for the disks being silver with the printing on them, i just think picture disks look better, rather than the silver disks which always show up finger prints no matter how hard you try not to.
At least the front cover does not have any tacky magazine or newspaper quotes thank god.
:nono:
It's a Scanavo case as well, which will make anyone who owns the MiB Limited Edition recoil in horror. You actually fear that you'll break your discs in two, because the discs are so firmly wedged around the hub in the case. Scanavo cases are abominations.

Nice! Where can I get these 4 disc amarays?
Good thing I got my R1-version....
Oh, sweet child of mine!
If this is what EIV have planned for The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring - Extended Version, then I feel sorry for those people who can't play Region 1 or Region 4 discs - at least theirs might work!

You are trying to relate logic to EiV :p
Obviously they bought a whole load of these for LOTR, and want to get good use out of them. Which was all I needed to finally go and pre-order at DVD Soon.
Also ****** off that they still won't print proper pics on the DVDs themselves like EVERY OTHER DVD COMPANY.
Bah.
Christ - :(
The best discs are the R4 amarays - BTTF trilogy and True Lie for example, but that just looks terrible :oh-hum:

Looks like it's gonna ship soon. The status has changed to 'packing'.
EV are shipping BLADE 2 in 2 different boxes - the horrible double sized amarays & also in the standard 2 disc style box (like LOTR).

It's a Scanavo case! A SCANAVO!!! Don't touch with a frickin' barge pole!
Slightly OT but have you seen the posters for Entertainment's new cinema release "Boat Trip"? It's the one with Victoria Silvstedt straddling a huge banana and either the slogan "Hello Buoys"or "When you're on this boat, you'll want to get off". Talk about a new low!
Great films, great extras, quality transfers, naff cover-art, plastic cases.
Miles better than a certain dull/no extras, poor transfers, cardboard (v. easy to damage and mark) snapper obsessed company beginning with W.
... and cheap .
Remember, EIV have probably the best reference disc in R2 (Blade), and though you can moan about their dodgy covers and inaccuracies, at least Se7en turns out to have DTS despite not claiming to (so it's a bonus). In fact at least it has DTS at all, which is a bonus for R2 anyway.
I'll buy dodgy cover-art over nasty cardboard any day :D
P.S. This 4 disc thing looks kind of interesting. Different anyway.
Oh, and talking of snappers...
The number of times now that I've seen a relative/friend who's never seen them before, struggle to get the damn things open, and I've even see them attempt to open them in a way that would wreck the case completely. At the very least most people dig their fingernails in if they actually realise where they should open them. Horrible, horrible cases .
yea i came into work 2day and seen tha and thought they were video boxes
if u think the inside is bad wait until u see the cover for it
its allmost as fat as a video box for sum reason, but smaller and just looks horrible
So where can I get these cases from then?

To be fair I think that's the only way you'd coax people into seenig that movie, by all accounts it's a new low in Cuba Gooding Jr's career
My copy was posted from Play yesterday - have to keep my fingers crossed all weekend now and hope I get a double-amaray. :(
got these at work today in the 4 disc box, only 6 out of 10 were rattlers, all disc one as well, disc 2 is practically impossible to wrench from the case. also when 2 discs are placed on the same side of the case the data side of one disc touches the top of the second, great! oh and they're as thick as a double alpha for some reason.
R1 lord of the rings anyone?

this along with Bi-lingual packaging and those stupid cheap amarays universal now use with the three grips, which you press and the disc just gets stuck and won't come out... i really feel companies are cutting too many corners and just taking advantage of the average viewer, and leaving us, the true DVD fans ****** off...
at least it helps when making the choice between regions, which is sometimes just as annoying!
Got the R2 Blade 2 yesterday, the case is not the greatest but it's not the worst either, if you press down on the clip then the disc comes out fine.
Great disc anyway
Scratched to pieces DVD sir?

Just got my DVD and it's in a normal disc case. I guess they're saving the 4 discers for LOTR.
The cover is very good - miles better than we've come to expect from EIV, with special features clearly marked - AND NO REVIEW QUOTES AT ALL!!!
Shame they still won't put images on the discs themseves.

its pretty crappy if you ask me...the booklet just floats around in there - gonna swap it for a proper amaray
Same here. Normal Amaray with the swingy flap. Another EIV moan though, those booklets that look like they're going to have a lot of info and then you realise it's just the chapter listing and 7 pages of other EIV titles. :oh-hum:
I was lucky got a double amaray.
I got a "swinger" too. Great DVD, though.
My local ASDA has the big chunky 4-disc holder version in stock.
Not too bothered though 'cos it fits in with some of my R4 double disc sets, plus they let me exchange my copy of THE OTHERS (which no-one on here wanted) for it ;) :D

just recieved my "Blade" and "Blade II" from Game and Blade II is in a normal Amray case for 2 disk sets.
mine was from dvd.co.uk and came in the four disc box. Very scary removing discs for the first time but thereafter were fine. Anyone noticed a problem with the DTS track? mine went completely out of synch after the layer change had to switch to 5.1 which was fine.
Watched this last night and it was ok.
Were there not a couple of headbutts in the last fight scene?? I thought these weren't allowed on an R2 DVD

i got it from a dvd rental place, galaxy something or other in ocean beach in san diego. they had a shelf full of ex-rentals for sale. i got "forsaken" as well
If you want a decide by looking at them the HMV in Oxford Circus has both styles. Come along and check them out.
Is there anyway you can tell in the shop which case it is by holding it up to your ear and rattling it or something?
