Question:
I spotted some classics recently on a Korean web etailer while doing a search for Korean movies. These classics are all available on the criterion label and infact have the same cover artwork.
The 1st of these classics I bought to try out is Grand Illusion.
Specs:
French Mono
Dual Layer DVD-9 (stated as Single Layer on back cover)
Peter Cowie Audion Commentary
Eng/korean subs
R3 but actually R0
17 chapter stops
5 min Jean renior Intro in english
Cast and Crew Info - Korean only
Inlay - Korean Only
Can anyone confirm if it is direct Criterion port?

The specs are almost the same - only the menu pages are completely different (the Spectrum logo on them is a give-away). Also missing the restoration demonstration. But the screenshots of the film and English subs are absolutely identical.
Earl Jolly Brown - Thanks for confirming!
I would be interested in Red Shoes and probably third man next.
Do you have a list of the Criterion-ports they are offering, or an e-tailer address?
I wish these were available last year when I was importing them into Korea from America for more than double the price! I did notice a Spectrum version of 'Chasing Amy' last summer which had all the commentaries and extras of the Criterion, perhaps that was the first. Will definitely pick up 'The Third Man' in the shops when I get back.
Earl Jolly Brown - From spectrum's website I found these titles. Not a lot really but its a start!

Resurrecting this thread now that I've bought one of the discs
'Wild Strawberries' - stunning transfer, as expected, not sure if the disc features the Bergman interview present on the Criterion - will check later. Cost me a tenner.
As you say Spectrum have also released some of the Bergman films that Tartan have been pushing in the UK, but included them in their 'Masterpiece Collection' range (mostly Criterion discs, all have spine numbers). These transfers are apparently very good.
The Collection also includes 'La Haine' and Chaplin's 'Limelight'. 'A Night to Remember' is released soon.
Another company has the rights to a few other Criterions - they do 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' (the Criterion is deleted) and the new 2-disc 'Notorious' - I'm not sure how the text-extras are treated on these releases, most of the 'Notorious' extras are written.
