Question:
Everyone who has the new Introduction to HKL DVD should check this out.......veeeeeery amusing:
Go to the "documentary" about how they restore/enhance the films. Skip to the section when they are talking about subtitling.
Just as the announcer is talking about how long they spend authoring them and making sure that the English used is "coherent and exactly grammatically correct", on one of the workstations, one of the "experts" has spelt the word celebrate like this:
Celerbrate.
The fact that this happens just as the announcer is saying how good the "team" are and how they work so hard to get a perfect English translation, I can't believe that no-one noticed that it had happened.
It's either a joke (which I doubt) or it's just an example of lazy QA and dodgy production values.
The "documentary" is pretty poor TBH, I know it's really a marketing/promo piece, but they didn't exactly spend much time on making it did they? It's shoddy (although mildly interesting) to say the least. What they should have done was include the excellent text based account on the Bullets N Babes (http://www.bulletsnbabesdvds.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=19&page=1) website. (Which was actually taken from the same promo piece on Iron Fisted Monk, which I haven't seen, hence this post!) It would have saved us from the endless EiV-style quote overload inbetween each section, and the dodgy VO...
...but is the disc worth getting for "The Hitman"?
Not sure yet, haven't had a chance to watch it yet :p
It was only £3.99 though, so I'm sure it will be. I'm a fan of Jet Li's older films (esp. the OUATIC series) before he sold out to Hollywood and started making "suspect" movies like Romeo Must Die et al.
Hitman's pretty good - not as good as Once Upon A Time In China but then not many HK films are IMO.
For £3.99 you can't go wrong

I have to STRONGLY disagree with that! Not only is OUATIC mediocre at best Tsui Hark could learn a thing or two in story telling even from the likes of andrew Lau and wong Jing ... :D
I watched Hitman this morning and I thought it was a great little film (well, it certainly took my mind of my ironing!).
I did spot one typo in the film: "moment" is spelt "mument."
Deffo worth the pruchase price. ;)
Boink!

  :notworthy
That's the one!!!
LOL ... good spot.
and for the record I thought Hitman was good ... doesnt deserve the panning it gets on here, Ive seen far worse! (and the humour actually made me laugh, were the guy knocks the girl out cold was great :D)
IIRC Hitman came not to long after Jet Li starred in Fist of Legend so its easy to see why it got a panning in that respect.
Its not a bad film, just a typcial Van Damme grade actioner but I find it hard to like any film which stars that small guy with the big gob.

Poor Eric Tsang. So that's a thumbs down for the Lucky Stars movies then? Actually, on second thought, I don't blame you...

LOL :D that guy is a legend in the HK entertainment industry making hundreds of comedies throughout the 80s and 90s always being the butt of everyone's jokes.
His big gob has gotten him into trouble before when he was beaten up by triads for making jokes about certain people in the HK entertainment circle.
Is this £3.99 disc available in the shops ?
