Question:
Someone has just reminded me that when B5 was shown on TV, it was cut - does anyone know if the new dvds will be cut as well?
Don't know, I've got it on order from Amazon, but they say the classfication is still To Be Announced, so er.... maybe it hasn't been announced yet.

don't amazon.uk have it for like £6 above the rrp (£44.99) at the mo?
I very much doubt it'll be cut because it was just Channel 4 who cut it (snipping out a "*******" here, a "*******" there) and not anyone with power over the DVD releases. I expect it'll be completely intact, after all it was a network TV show so it wouldn't have been too sweary or violent in the first place.

Yes, but I've got it on order at Amazon.de for around £23 delivered.

The original videos had one cut in Season 3 due to Nunchuk's (sp?) being used, the BBFC are now far more relaxed about these so hopefully the discs will be uncut as I assume they will be reclassified for DVD release?

According to the BBFC website the only episode that was ever cut is Messages from Earth, which I believe Channel 4 showed uncut.
Also, IIRC the season 1 episode "TKO" wasn't shown in the regular run on CH4. It was shown late night as a special. I also remember stabbings were edited out of various episodes.

It would be strange if they didn't. You can't dub an audio commentary? Or are the DVD producers that stupid? I don't know.
Germany, France and Italy could possibly get such "warped" content. It's condisered natural to make dubs instead of hearing what is really said in these and many other countries. Many have no regard for the original content.
