Question:
I've seen a few copies of this on ebay recently and wondered if it's worth bidding on. It's described as a 'limited run German R0 Pal DVD' with the infamous 'TCM 3: Excalibur' teaser trailer.
It also states that it contains the fully uncut English (and optional German) language version.
Does anyone know what the quality is like? I don't want to bid too highly if it has poor pic/sound.
Any help much appreciated! :)
I've heard the picture quality is awful.
It's the heavily censored US R rated cut, not the unrated print New Line put out on laser disc many years ago, which was still missing chunks for blood & horror
= AVOID.
Daliah.
Thanks for the advice/info guys.
I thought it may be worth it if I could get it for a good price and, as I've never seen the film, I was willing to give a go as it seems to be the only version available anywhere. But, given your advice, I think I'll pass on it for now and see if it gets a better release.
How does the film compare to the other 3 TCM's, is it any good?
I've got an unrated VHS copy.
From what I remember the movie is pretty nasty and just rehashes the first TCM (another "dining room" scene etc)
Better than 2, but nowhere near the original IMO:)
I personally liked TCM 2 best because it didn't take itself too seriously and was a lot gorier than the original. And most importantly, a chainsaw-wielding Dennis Hopper was in it.... I guess you can't beat that.
TCM 4 was so bad I couldn't finish it, not even fast-forwarding 80% of it.
TCM 3 is an OK sequel, but the R-rated cut leaves a lot to be desired in gore and violence. Worst thing is, the cover of my Dutch VHS has pretty nasty pictures of scenes that actually did not make it into the final version... :(
