Question:
Does anyone know if 20th Century Fox UK operate a replacement scheme for faulty discs like MGM? My disc of Omen III appears to have given up the ghost - picture breaks up all the time when I try to play it.
Thanks.
Does anyone have any information regarding Fox's policy here?
Thanks.

It appears M.G.M. simply passed the buck for the faulty copies of 'The Terminator' and 'Silence Of The Lambs' back to the manufacturer of the titles, namely Technicolor. I returned my faulty copies of the above discs to Technicolor and to date they have sent out two replacement sets both of which had marks and scratches on the playing surfaces. I strongly suspect Technicolor are simply cleaning the discs and sending them back out rather than replacing them with new copies. Check your disc and see if you can identify who manufactured it. I am intested in establishing if this is another title manufactured by Technicolor.

If you have not already done so, search for and check out the thread 'Dodgy Technicolor Discs' and add your comment to that. I am currently in dispute with Technicolor re the condition of the replacement discs sent to me. It is my opinion that this company have simply cleaned the discs which were returned to them and sent them back out. I am currently awaiting a reply from the Technical Director of Technicolor. If I do not get a satisfactory response from him, I intend to take the matter up with M.G.M.
Add your details to the list of people who are unhappy with the quality of the replacement discs. If I can show that my own experience is not an isolated case then we might get some satisfaction from Technicolor and/or M.G.M.

It may work fine now but what about long term. There is no way discs should suffer from this problem. There appears little doubt that Technicolor have had a manufacturing problem which they seem less than keen to publicise. I was promised brand new replacements for my own discs which, apart from the clouding issue, were immaculate. What I received in return were badly marked/scratched discs which had obviously been cleaned.
Thanks.
