Question:
I'm more than a little disappointed in the new release of <i>Brighton Rock</i>; it's totally bare bones, not even the promised introduction from Sir Richard Attenborough, and the print is far from pristine - covered in scratches and dust spots (was this the 'new print' that had a cinema release earlier this year?)
A truly seminal British film such as this deserves much better. A terrible pity and a missed opportunity.

So many films, so little time...
Hmm.... I was looking forward to picking this release up, but you've sort of put me off now.
I heard the cinema print was good, not Citizen Kane like in restoration stakes, but good. This sounds like an old VHS master to me!
I think I'll wait and see what transpires in R1 land regarding this film.
Thanks for the warning John. A great film and it deserves better.
