Collect Questions

Ok, this may seem a little sad to some people, but so far I haven't been a big follower of Hong Kong / Asian cinema, with the exception of watching a few Jackie Chan / Horror seasons on TV. However, HMV currently have a few HKL DVDs on sale for £9.99 and I've decide thats too good a price to miss. I've already picked up Police Story, and so I was wondering if people can recommend Naked Killer, which looks pretty cool and funky from the cover? Is it worth £9.99 of my hard earned cash? Also, they have Police Story 2 in the same sale (I've seen this movie a few times on C4 and liked it) which I am considering buying too, but I've heard some negative comments about the DVDs inaccurate aspect ratio. It's originally 2.35:1, but I hear it's been cropped at 2.25:1 - does this make much of a difference? Any comments and opinions would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers.



Personally, i wouldn't bother with Naked Killer - haven't seen it in a long time, but remember being unimpressed with it. There are plenty of other HKL titles more deserving of your cash.



Agreed, Naked Killer is just an exploitation movie. As for Police Story 2, I do not remember if it was cropped but it did not distract me at all.

Police Story II is indeed cropped - by quite a bit if this article (http://www.cinedie.com/dvd/policecropping.htm) is anything to go by. :(
But it's still the best version you can get, and it's available for £8.99 at Play...

Naked Killer is just £5.98 at blockbuster.

I also have Naked Killer on DVD and wasn't that impressed (but only £7.99 @ MVC so I don't mind)

Well I watched it for the first time today, and I have so say I really enjoyed it :noid: :thumbs:
Sure more of Chingmy Yau would have been the icing :norty: on the cake but hey that would have made a film so excellent that its sheer power would cause the universe to implode.... or something :gag:
