Question:
I heard some rumours about a possible Evil Dead IV being made. What do you think? Cool or not that cool?
I hope it's better than evil dead 3. While it was a good film that had certain brilliant Ash moments (such as when he fights himself), the deadites lacked the menace of the first two films (skeletons aren't scary). ED2 is still the best by far.
Groovy:rocker:
It's often mentioned but it's unlikely ever to happen.
Besides Spider-Man 2 should keep him busy for another 2 years...
Why would Spiderman 2 keep him for 2 years? They'll do principal photography within 2-3 months, and his is a supporting role so he'll be done in a few weeks.
But yeah, there are always rumors about this and Campbell says himself that the 3rd one just didn't make enough money and that's all there is to it, there won't be a 4th.

No, not Bruce Campbell, But Sam Raimi. The director of the Evil Dead films and Spiderman I & II.

Oh right, I though Campbell got another villain role in Spiderman sequel. :o
Nope never gonna happen...this thread has occured many a time but the official line as spoken by the man with THAT chin is that there will be no evil dead 4
So, you want "Evil Dead IV"/"Army of Darkness II," eh?
Well, don't hold your breath, buckos. There have been rumors a plenty flying around the whacky Web so I have decided to post the definative answer.
The 4th installment hasn't been made for a simple reason - "Army of Darkness" didn't rake in enough cash to justify another film. The basic economics of Hollywood rule, gang, I hate to break it to you. It's like this - no Box Office, no sequel. No other explanation is correct, no other one is needed.
Let me be clear, however, on one point: I'd be happy to do it - so would Sam, but let's not beat that dead horse any more until it becomes a reality...IF it ever does.
Now, I could lie to you, but you're grown up (some of you) and I'm sure you'd rather have the straight dope than some phony wind-bag explanation. In the meantime, enjoy the slew of re-releases in stores now.

That acticle was written ages ago.
The promotion during the release of AB Book of the Dead all suggested that both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell would love to make another movie together although it may not be a 'dead' movie.
Given the amount of power Raimi has now with the Spiderman franchise there's no reason to think he wouldnt be interested in funding another independent horror picture with Bruce as the star.
Anyone else think the guy who plays Spiderman looks like Theodore Rami? Sams brother?
From all of the reports I have seen since it was first brought up years ago it seems to be more likely that we will see a fourth one now than ever before, I have heard everyone from every Evil Dead film express interest and Sam has definitely been in talks about it, in fact there are a few drafts of Evil Dead 4 scripts written, but as yet unseen.
I think the dvd sales and the toy sales of Evil Dead products is beginning to show that there may be an audience and it seems to me like Ash isnt quite done yet, I should imagine Sam is desperate to go mad with the camera again.
Sam on the back of spider-man signed a deal to start up his own production company that will specialise in "low budget horror and fantasy films" he has already purchased at least two properties for "Senator Films".
I think it could happen and it brings a smile to my face to think of Bruce spouting the one liners again.
But it could all go horribly wrong.
but if they do do a fourth, which i would love to see, how would they deal with the alternate endings for army of darkness?
I'm a silly girl and should not try and correct someone whilst I'm in the middle of a phone conversation!

Hmmm, tricky one. I have thought of two possible stories for the sequel. I think its only right that now he’s been into the past(and in the euro cut he does end up in the future) he should be placed into the future.
From the US cut i think we should see Ash living as normal, a family man. Telling his kids and their friends about all the adventures he went through (with extra lashings of exaggeration.) Then his kid tracks down the original camp site and some how gets kidnapped by the force and gets sucked into the future. Ash has to find a way of getting there and saving him. Good, eh?
Just think, he’s in the future. There could be some sort of giant corporation that’s harnessed the power of the book of the dead in some way... They are using it but don't understand it fully and everything goes pear shaped. Streets are anarchy, the worlds falling apart. Just think of the new ash hand possibilities!!! Then at the end he could face his deadite son. Who he can't kill....
Cool, eh? Should i be writing a script instead of telling you guys this?
Leprechaun vs Jason vs Ash in Space. Produced by Joel Silver. Coming in 2004. :brickwall
Bruce has said that the game Evil Dead:Hail To The King is pretty much to be considered as Evil Dead 4.
And with regard to the alternate ending/continuation of Army Of Darkness the directors cut should be official word, as both Sam and Bruce say on the commentary that that is the proper ending that was written and shot and that means Ash is trapped in the future.
However, having said that, Hail To The King must continue from the alternate 'Hero' ending that Dino De Laurentis ordered as Ash is in our time..."oh no, I've gone cross-eyed :brickwall !"
