Do NTSC 3D Sets work in PAL?
Question:

I have a multi-system TV and DVD player. I am interested in purchasing 3D sets like IMAX and Ultimate Horror 3D Collection. As far as I know, those sets contain IMAX glasses and some conversion adapters and power supplies. Does anyone know whether those systems can work on my system? Or is there a way to make those work? I think I should buy a power supply conversion adapter first (since US power supplies and plugs are different)

Answers:

I've got one of these and unfortunately the 3-D glasses won't work on my main TV (this TV can only be set to 100hz or progressive scan only).
If your TV can output a 60hz signal then you will be fine. My cheapo LG £149 televideo in my bedroom works fine with the sets - its just a pity the TV screen is so small.
This is also assuming that your 60Hz Tv can play other US discs without any problem.
Oh one thing I forgot - If you get yourself down to Maplin NOW you can get a US-UK voltage adaptor for the grand total of £5 (trust me this is a serious bargain). You will need this to plug the box into.
Any more questions - just ask.
As a side note - I got my 3D Box set brand new and very cheap through Ebay rather than the proper online retailers.

I have a 100Hz projection TV but I have some other tiny TV sets which I suppose I can use those sets on. So, I will give it a try. Thanks a lot for your help...

NMA let us know how you get on as i was considering getting the horror set

Will they work on 50Hz tvs, as i think this is what most people have(?)

Answers:

Depends if your 50hz set can output 60hz too.
Set your DVD to output in NTSC rather than PAL then play a US disc. If you can see the picture fine on your 50hz set then you should be OK.
