Question:
I'm a bit curious why the release of these films on R4 hasn't sparked off uproar on the forums? Is there a lot of people waiting for the R1/R2 releases? I'm asking because I'm thinking of ordering the R4 soon. Should I, or is there a reason I should wait for either the R1 or R2 boxset?
Thanks in advance:)
You should pay a visit to the Search page (http://Here.com/forums/search.php?s=) and type in BTTF and Back to the Future... There's been a couple of threads discussing this release already...
why wait fir the R2 set, it's exactly the same as the R4 and twice the price. The R1 apparantly has more extras but drops the DTS tracks so it really depends what you want most.
It's not clear yet if the UK R2 will have all the extras of the R1 - it was originally scheduled for September but then pushed back to December - the most likely reason for this would be the inclusion of the R1 extras.
The (utterly useless) dts track would have to go if the extra extras are included - unless they add an additional disc which would be the wisest choice anyway.

Yes, it had absolutely nothing to do with them hoping to cash-in on the lucrative festive period.
So is the DTS track as crap as i've heard? The thought of BTTF in DTS gets me giddy but not if it's no different to Dolby D.
DTS on first is very good..not crap anyway..
if the DTS track i listened to last night on BTTF was crap............then give me that crap sound on every disc i buy. it sounded excellent.
the storm scene was superb!
the r4 is dual coded so is effectivly a r2 as well.
According to http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/ the dts track makes a little more use of the surrounds and sub but it isn't much better than the DD5.1 track.

Go for the R4 if you want to watch them now, you get good extras but it's the film, and they are presented very well. Perfect surround use, not overdone.
I've migrated over from uk.media.dvd. There where threads every day about this in the few weeks (and probably still now) surrounding the realease.
I would take the Reg. 4 any day of either the R1 or R2 due around xmas. They may have more features, i.e. an extra commentary track but they lack the DTS track that the R4 has. I would take DTS anyday over an extra commentary. The discs are feature packed anyway. Guess it depends whether you are a audio or extras man!
I think also the £17.99 retail price from CDWOW is the big selling point. The R1 & 2 will be more, suggested retail on R2 is 35 quid!!!
I bought the one i prefer......
Thanks in advance:)
