Airplane! (R2) Shirley a mistake?
Question:

Picked this up cheap at Virgin in Oxford Street last week (a tenner) haven't seen it for years and decided to treat myself.
Still a classic but I did note that the box has a BBFC 'PG' certificate logo front and back but the disk inside itself has a '15' BBFC certificate (along with the usual symbols from other countries).
Which one is right? Is this legal? Cock up I assume.
Still a classic though, must remember to get Airplane 2 when I get the chance.

Answers:

I got Airplane 2 from my local Virgin in their latest sale. Top stuff.

hi,
As you can see I'm new to the forums :)
I think the film it self is a PG but the commantary track has the word "******" said twice, that might explain why its at a 15.
hope this helps

Answers:

definately a cock up, legally the disc, front of sleeve and spine (only if wider than 20mm) must display the certificate IN COLOUR (take note HKL) and the back of the packaging must contain the cert and explanation.
don't know if it should be a PG or 15 but MLAM's explanation is a feasable source of confusion

Curious...
The IMDB states that this film was an A on it's theatrical release in the UK, a PG on it's original video release, and the DVD release is a 15.

Answers:

It's definetly a 15 because of the commentary
BBFC website confirms this

Answers:

My copy has got 15 on both sleeve and disc.

I get the impression my copy is from a 'new batch' as it had the latest ads for the Italian Job DVD inside the sealed Amaray (which by coincidence I bought at the same time)
Looking at the entry on IMDB, it definitely seems like the '15 on the CD is the correct rating as it matches the version of the film but the PG on the cover is misleading to anyone who actually cares about these things....
