Question:
Anybody else seen this yet?
I dl'd it and it was very enjoyable.
I watched a fairly decent copy and I was wondering if it had been a test screening as the music towards the end of the hotel scene near the end of the film was like the requiem for a dream music. Can anyone else confirm this or was I just hearing things?
Yeah, I saw what must have been the same version as you saw a few months ago. The score throughout was all temporary music borrowed from other films (the music used in the final sequence was indeed taken from "Requiem for a Dream").
This has now had an official UK screening (at last weekend's frightfest), so I assume that the 'proper' score has been added.
I thought it was a very powerful film, with an absolutely cracking performance by Robin Williams. He has done some cr*p in his time, but this film and "Insomnia" just go to show that he can be great if he has the right material.
I highly recommend it.
Yeah, Robin Williams, just like Steve Martin, are best at darker roles, and with Insomnia and Death to Smoochy being awesome films, I'm looking forward to it on DVD as it has a VERY limited release, even living in LA I'd have to go who knows where to some run down art theater and I don't want to.
BTW, it's One Hour Photo, why did you add "graph" there :p
My Bad!
Its a shame that the music was a temp score as I thought it all worked really well in the movie.
I'll have to hold on to my download and compare them when I buy the dvd next year.
Anyone know if 'Death To Smoochy' is getting a release here then?

I heard November.
It expanded into more theaters this week and so I was able to see it in a better class theater, AMC of Burbank, just now. It was almost full at 22:15 on Thursday night, while no visible advertisement, so the word of mouth is good and strong.
First thing I loved is the score, it's just perfect and adds so much to the scenes, actually making them more than they are, builds the pressure and anticipation. The whole movie does, but when it all ends, you can't help but go, "that's it?". Nothing really happens, nothing much. But the emotional trip is much better, helped by great acting and cringing real life situations. Also, everyone can relate to the loneliness, should anyway, even the 24/7 drink/rock/pukers, because you can be surrounded by people but be so utterly alone, like one of the great scenes illustrates. Cinematography is also very important for a movie set in basically 2 or 3 limited locations, and the movie always looks interesting.
Of course I'd recommend it, but after it was over, I heard a few boos in the theater, most likely coming from XXX fans, so if you're one of them, and limited only to that, then avoid One Hour Photo, otherwise you'll enjoy and relate to this deep drama.

can't even believe people actually boo in a cinema. The only ever reaction I'm seen in a cinema was when I saw Ice Age as it had a lot of kids in the audience who applauded it. Also LOTR may have got a round of applause, but booing, never. Anyway I'm looking forward to this hope to see it this weekend.
Does anyone know if/when One Hour Photo will be getting a UK VHS rental release? (it's for my Mum before anyone starts complaining about VHS!)

Don't know how accurate this is but blackstar.co.uk have a VHS version listed as released on 31st March for the (Wait while I go and start a thread in the bargain forum) price of £80.99. So this should be the rental version.
nice price that
Just watched this - very very creepy film- but excellent nonetheless- doubt Ill be able to watch Robin Williams in the same light again.
But saying that Im just watching 'The Charlie Rose Show' on the disc and Williams is on top comedic form:thumbs:
I got this film last week on DVD, I did very much enjoy it, was really odd to see Robin Williams playing such a screwed up character. He did a very good job of playing the character though  even though its not like the usual roles he assumes.
Good film, Im sure there was a lot missing from a Trailer I saw though ... maybe Im mistaken.
Great to see Williams get the credit he deserves, I think he's a great actor (I actually like What Dreams May Come :D) he plays the nutjob part perfect, although you gotta feel for his character.
Anyone know of any region differences?
