Answers:

yes but last I heard about this that there were various problems regarding not honoring prices or something like that

edit mvc.co.uk's price is now £ 48.99
guess I am too late that price of £ 35 then

Any idea if the R1 and R2 versions will be different, as the R1 is out a month later than the R2

This is my favourite sci-fi show EVER. I'm not going to rush buying it. I've waited a long time for this. I'll wait 'til it's out everywhere and then buy the BEST version. For me, cost is not the issue this time.

For me, cost is not the issue this time. Hmn, R1/2 are out at virtually the same time and currently look like they are going to be identical. I seriously doubt that when it finally arrives on R4 will be any better. So what exactly are you waiting for?

One thing to watch out for is the actual transfer. It seems that all the CGI and compositing effects were rendered on NTSC video only; so no high-definition source to downconvert for the PAL version.
What was the quality like on the UK In The Beginning and The Gathering DVDs? Did the CGI scenes look bad?

They cancelled most of the £35 orders, if you had ordered it at the lower price you can email them saying that they violated the Which Webtrader guidelines and they will then honour the misprice.

Has there been any news on when the remaining 4 series will be released?
B5 is probably my favourite SciFi series and although I have waited this long for it to come out (by putting it out of my mind), I know that as soon as I get season 1 I will want the remaining 4 straight away.

Just like on the R1 version, the CGI looked better then the non CGI bits due to lack of grain etc. Remember that the CGI was rendered for 4:3 and is being cropped to 16:9, so even on the NTSC version it is being blown up.

Personally I thought the CGI on the R1 version was a tad dark compared with the way I remember it when it was broadcast on CH4 many moons ago but this might be down to changes in my setup and the way i'm watching it. I am going to borrow a friends R2 ITB for comparison and i'll report back.

OK. Just did a picture quality comparison between the R1 & R2 In The
Beginning. Tested using the "Holy War" scene. Opening shots with Londo
in the Palace talking to the children is much grainier on the R2 than
the R1. The CGI that immediately follows showing the Minbari fleet
kicking the Earth fleet into touch is similar on both regions picture
quality wise. Also used the scene where the Earth cruiser first comes
into contact with the Minbari. The R1 definitely is a tad crisper
picture quality wise. Strangely, it's the non-CGI scenes that really
look noticeably better on the R1. If this is a taste of what the
boxset quality is going to be like then R1 will be the one to get.
I suspect that NTSC masters are the source for both regions and that
conversion is done to produce the R2.
