Question:
I think 2 of Edward Norton's best performances are in his debut, Primal Fear, and another take at the same kind of character in The Score. He's just so great playing two-faced baddies, retards, mentally challenged, whatever, that I think we need a threepeat. He should take another role with that element. What do you think?
Edward Norton is probably one of the best younger actors around at the moment. I make a point of watching anything he is in...
He is a fine actor, especially in these two roles. But why oh why is he in The Italian Job remake?
I spotted a strange Norton theme before.. ie...
(spoilers)
"Fight Club" - plays a guy with two characters (Pitt and Norton)
"Primal Fear" - plays a skitzo choir boy. 2 characters again
"American History X" - plays a Nazi before and a reformed guy after prison
"The Score" - plays two characters again (retard and crciminal)
even "Keeping the faith" he plays a priest who has to juggle with his love for a woman and the dilemas that causes..
Interesting isn't it...
Maybe he thinks it will be fun to do, regardless of whether it turns out to be a good film.

You've got to remember, only 6 American's have ever seen 'The Italian Job'. So he proberly thinks the scripts just a good robbery yarn.

That is true. I just hope it isn't absymal. Norton did once say that he didn't mind doing movies purely for the money.
Intresting thing about Edward Norton is that he keeps getting major Hollywood roles and is regarded as a big player dispite the fact all his films ( regardless of quality) are major flops. Although i'm sure 'Red Dragon' will change that.
of course it'll be abysmal. It stars Marky Mark!

But 'Boogie Nights' and 'Three Kings' prooves that theroy wrong.
and The Perfect Storm - I thought that film was great!
and as for Ed Norton - he's a brilliant actor and I want to have his babies :norty:
agreed - Norton is brilliant, History X is fantastic!
Shock !!! .... horror !!! ..... me & Lenny Nero are in agreement over something  :D
I personally think he's OK but nothing special. :|
I agree with the majority and think Norton's one of the best actors of his generation. I too make a point of trying to catch any film he;s been in. Primal Fear was an astounding performance and lifted the film from good thriller to great thriller.
Norton looks terrible in the Red Dragon trailers.
Edward Norton is to produce and star in the film version of Motherless Brooklyn a book by Johnathan Letham. It's main character is an orphan suffering from Tourettes syndrome who is adopted by a 'gangster' and later turns detective to find his mentors murderer..it's a really good novel, and as far as I am aware, Norton intends to play the central character...should be good. Here's a link...againhttp://www.edward-norton.org/brooklyn.html (Edward Norton ,Motherless Brooklyn)

Cool, that sounds like a grea...bum tits willy.....t film!
I think that the have-to-see-this-film-because-Norton's-in-it situation is similar to that of 70s DeNiro where every film he was in you wanted to see.
now i'm not saying that the films Nortons been in are anything like the standard of 70s DeNiro, just that he has that actor-as-auteur thing going on

Yes, you're not alone, everyone I speak to says he's like the next generation De Niro, and that's why The Score was so great, pairing them together WITH Brando! I just love that movie.
That Brooklyn movie sounds interesting, will look forward to it.
Ok bah-bye. :)
