Question:
I just picked up an ARTEC 16x DVD player for my pc and as with most pc dvd players, it sticks on the region the 5th disk inserted is. I have a sizeable collection of DVDs from all different regions and need it to play multi-region.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any (software) firmware upgrade was available. The firmware on mine is 3.10. I know upgrades for firmwares versions 1xx are available.

It says the 3.10 is only available using an EEprom burner
Any help would be great cos I feel I have bought something which is proving a waste of cash.
Cheers

Do a search in the Computers and Consules forum for firmware and you'll find a few posts that list some good sites for what you want.
Actually this post would get a better response there anyway.
i had the same problem as you
but i managed to flash the bios on my dvd to make it multi region using the software on this page
here the link but mind how you go

The only problem I notice Omega man is mine is is 3.10 and it says that it has to be done using a EEprom burner. What firmware was yours?
I dont suppose you can flash an older firmware onto a newer????
