How many dvd turkeys have you got?
Question:

I was just wondering how many discs people have in their collections that were purchased on impulse and later found they were turkeys.
My group of turkeys includes
Double Dragon ( beyond any redemption)
Evel Knievel ( George Hamilton at his worst, I remember enjoying this film when I first saw it, but I was 9yrs old at the time)
Highlander: Endgame (a mess)
Tales Of Frankenstein ( Put together by a complete moron, this one has to be seen to be believed)
Ok people, name and shame time...

Answers:

none - only buy what i want, and it has a good rep'
if i am unsure i will rent or wait for sky boxoffice.
wouldn't ever have bought double dragon ! as it was always going to be terrible,
this is probably the reason why i only have about 100 discs and others have thousands. i cant even think of 1000 disc i would want to own!

The only dodgy title I've got at the moment is Vertical Limit, but it's not worth selling it as It'll only a raise a fiver, if that. :D

I have about 10 discs that for various reasons I would like to dump but seeing that 2nd markets would only give me 2 - 5 pounds if that I'll just keep 'em. e.g. T2 1st edition

I've haven't got any films I don't like as I always sell them straight away if I'm not keen.

I have a few films that have gobble gobble in them, but I'm not sure if that's what constitutes a turkey....

I have Alien Resurrection, Rambo III, Waterworld, Collateral Damage and various Roger Moore Bond films. I am going to buy Hudson Hawk too when I can find it cheap enough.
Now if only they would release Howard the Duck :D

The second half of the Planet of the Apes box set. I'd only seen the first one so thought they'd be good. I'd heard they were low budget but I just was not prepared for 'Batlle'
The fists od Bruce Lee, staring Bruce Li. My wife got it for me, she's not a Lee fan and didn't know bless her.
That's about it I think. I'm normally careful not to buy rubish.
I sold the R1 Version of Highlander for a fiver. Mind you I only bout it for seven.

Just the two:
- BETTER LIVING (R2)
- I DON'T BUY KISSES ANYMORE (R2)
Both part of a really crumby DVD boxset I got for Christmas. Neither would sell on eBay - even at 50p opening bid!

I like every single disc in my collection, for one reason or another.
I did a cleanup about half a year ago and got rid of 20 or so titles, now it's all good.

Lost in Space and Con Air and my excuse is that I bought them as an early adoptor of DVD when there was sweet FA to buy. Otherwise my collection consists of films I know and love

And I thought I was the only person in the world that liked this film!! Can't see myself watching Inspector Gadget again any time soon, just wish I had some kids to blame that one on.
My R2 Memento has been superceded by the limited edition aswell.

which is why the title of this thread should be changed from how many turkies have you got to how many of the films in your collection do you hate.
Someone mentioned the Roger Moore Bonds I wouldn't consider any of them turkies, well perhaps Octopussey. I don't like Con Air but by all accounts it was a successful film and not a turkey.

I own Manos:Hand of Fate.
the worst film ever on IMDB and having watched it all i quite agree.
Although my version of Manos is the Mystry Science theather version so that raises it's cred some what.
(BTW Mr Stanton thinks Con Air is a post modern classic action film and happily as a copy in my collection.)

I think that this film was OK, but I actually thought that the disc was non-anamorphic widescreen from what Michael D's (http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ReviewID=1322) Region 4 Force Video review of the film seems to suggest.
Still, it's only £1.95.
It is P&S though, isn't it?

I own "Shadow Hours" and "Guardian", two of the worst straight to DVD films in the short history of DVD, but they are review copies so I have an excuse.
Some dreadful films are quite fun of course - "American Ninja" and "The Swarm" spring to mind.
