Bringing Up Baby
Question:

Does anybody know if the "Bringing Up Baby" DVD that is listed on the German amazon.de site has burnt in German sub-titles or are they removable?
I'm surprised that's it's not released in the U.K. - classic movie.
Cheers.

Answers:

...do you really want the rather tacky, barebones German release (on a DVD-5) rather than the nice French release -> with extras <- on a DVD-9...?...
. . . . . .

Answers:

I thought the French subs were fixed on all these collector’s editions?

Answers:

I didn't know there was a French release!
If there is burnt in subtitles with the German and French release then I'll just stick with my old VHS.
If anybody can confirm if there is I'd be grateful. :)

Answers:

There are no burnt in subs on the French box-set (or at least on the copy that I saw.)

Answers:

Not burnt in but unremovable when the English audio is selected - Or at least that’s what I’d read. I’d be happy to be contradicted. From www.cinestore.com:
Français, obligatoires avec la VO

Answers:

Certainly jonathan.e. Cinestore state on all their Editions Montparnasse discs that there are forced French subbies. They're certainly not on my copy of Soupcons, leading me to suspect that this was a bit of CYA from Cinestore.

Answers:

Thanks for that Samuel. Wish I’d known before as I just placed a French order and was keen to get The Big Sky but decided against it due to (what I thought were) fixed subs.
Do you know what other Montparnasse sp eds are available?

Answers:

"...what other Montparnasse sp eds are available?"
...go straight to the horse's mouth...
