Addicted?
Question:

Are you addicted to buying dvd's but find your rarely in the nood to concentrate for 2 or so hours?
When I finally get the films I've been after for ages I find myself the next day looking on the net for my next must haves! While the films I've just bought are on my shelf.
Does anyone else find themselves in this predicament?

Answers:

Yes, although the reason that I rarely have two hours to watch a film is more likely to be my son...
It took two and a half hours to watch Kiss of the Dragon last week, that's an hour longer than the film runs for...

I do find that if I'm not waiting for something to arrive I'm more likely to fire up the pc and look for something else to buy :)
I've got quite a backlog of DVDs to watch, but I prefer it that way as I usually like to be able choose a film based on my mood and the circumstances, I find it frustrating to to have a couple of unwatched films but not be in the mood for watching either.
Does anyone else have trouble with girlfriends wanting to watch 3 or 4 different soaps each night when you want to watch a DVD? We've got two DVDs but she always seems to reappear in the lounge when they have finished and want to talk to me about something

Chris 21 totally agree.
In a sick way, I actually think I get more pleasure out of pre-ordering and waiting for discs to arrive, than I actually do watching them.
The number of times that I've been crapping myself with excitement waiting for a disc to arrive only to not watch it for three or four months is incredible.
A good example of this would be Moulin Rouge which after seeing at the cinema I couldn't wait to get. Still haven'y got round to watching it. (Lot's of pleasure from owning it though!!)
Confession Time : Caught myself sitting in front of the DVD collection the other night, just "admiring" it !!!
You are not alone!!!

Jon B: Your not alone either on that point of gazing at them. One day I said to my girlfriend that I'm throwing on a DVD to watch. I stood looking at the shelf for what seemed like 2 mins. She said she was gone for about 15 mins and I was still there looking at them. But then again, I'm pretty indecisive :) I felt a little weird though after that. I turned on Eurosport and watched boxing instead :)

 @ Dorgan.
I look at my collection too - especially now I've got a good quality pine bookcase to show them off in. The day I got the bookcase I just kept looking at them again and again - it's just so nice to have somewhere decent to put the collection I've spent ages building up.
I can be indecisive about what to watch too. I've found a way around it though - if I can't find a disc to watch quickly then I watch the oldest unwatched film I've got - gets the unwatched pile down and is helping to prevent me from having very old unwatched films. It's when you spend ages browsing through your collection on DVD Profiler that you know you've got a problem - especially if you find a disc in your collection that you didn't realise you'd bought!

I've got a broken foot at the moment so going out is a bit of a pain so I've been watching my DVD's and have got the new purchases down to 3 which includes the BTTF trilogy although I've watched part 1 already so that's just four more to go and I'll have no more backlog. This should change as I'm expecting a few back orders to come on stream end of the month and first week in September by which time I'll have 6 more titles to watch including the Ealing comedy set making 9 films to watch in all.

God bless these forums!!! Is good to know us addicts are not alone!!! Couldn't agree more about the excitement with Pre-Orders....god that sounds sad!
Can't wait for Blade 2 at the mo but as for November....it's time for a full on :dork: celebration! Star Wars Ep 2, Spider-Man, Lord Of The Rings, Red Dwarf and, maybe, Minority Report!! Has there ever been a better month for big releases!!!

I've got over 20 (edit: recount was 32) DVDs to watch and admit I probably enjoy ordering and waiting for them more than actually watching them!
When you feel like watching a DVD you can stand there for half an hour thinking of what film you fancy only to go away with nothing.
Back to the Future arrived on Saturday and haven't got around to watching this yet and doubt I will for some time:rolleyes:
