Which is better? Other than the rumour about sound being 5.1 on the R1s the specs are the same.
I got the R2s myself and am happy with them.

R1 will not have 5.1 sound, as announced officially by Fox it will be the same as R2 and have 2.0. It was just a rumour started by a website that did not have all the facts.
The ending is so sad. :(

There are about five 24 threads in the Movie discussion forum, please take your blatant padding over to one of those threads that have huge spoiler warnings on.
Personally, I only have the final episode to watch on BBC tomorrow night and had managed to avoid everything to do with the ending. Now I'll be sitting there to find out who gets shot or whatever.

As I understood it the R2 version is not 'cut' ... it should have had the BBc episodes on it but someone made a botch of it.
Fox are aware of the problem, the product is being recalled and then re-released (with the correct BBC episodes) next month.
It's not being recalled, anyone that wants can send their last two discs back to FOX and they will be sent replacements containing the BBC versions. But they are not recalling the product.
Does anybody really care though?

The R4 won't be coming for quite a while I suspect (heck, we're only up to 9AM on telly).
Bottom line - can someone say that the forthcoming R1 will be the same as the R2 that is in the shops NOW?
- ie I don;t want to have to send 2 discs back to get the 'right' version
- therefore choosing purely on price (R1 being cheaper)
The R1 is the same version in the UK shops now.
Futher prints of the R2 on DVD in future are likely to be the versions shown by the BBC.

I think you’ll find it is now being recalled, or as good as, with etailers like Play refusing to sell it until Fox supply them with corrected complete sets.
