Question:
The first cut of the new Trek film was apparently almost 3 hours and in order to cut 45mins the cameo by Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher has been cut!!!!!!

Deaks.
I never watch Star Trek, but whats wrong with Wil Wheaton?
Stand by me rules
His character in the show was a really annoying know-it-all. I bet any trekkies watching Tin Soldiers cheered when he met his fate. :)
However I agree he's great in Stand By Me. As are all the cast, really. Good DVD, too.
Um, better get this back on topic I suppose. Um, isn't Star Trek lovely?
According to reports Bryan Singer (Director Of X-Men) has got a cameo as well as Kate Mulgrew.
YES! I hate that PRICK! I'm glad I'm not alone.
Remember the episode where he tries to pass the test to get into academy, first season I think, ugh, that was the most annoying one ever!
I liked his mom though, something happened to her and she got replaced by an annoying old bag in season 2, but I haven't seen past that yet, I think the actress comes back later on.

I think the film was called Toy Soldiers! :dork:
Oh praise the lord....
James
Thank God, he's so annoying!
I want a 3 hour cut!
Or even better, we'll get a super special directors cut when it's on DVD. :-)

Let's wait to see what it's like first! After all - I could do without a 3 hour cut of Star Trek 5...
The character development for Wesley could have been much better, just as his character was getting interesting (becoming like the traveller, being able to step out of time etc), they cut him !
Could have been quite good I thought...
oh well!
p.s. I thought that they might have made him Picards son

He quit I think as he as unhappy they wouldn't let do other projects (nameyl Valmont), I read that ages ago from a link on fark.
Actually I think it's a shame... he's a character everyone loves to hate so he should have been in it.
Maybe we'll see the footage on the DVD.
Can't see the problem with his inclusion
He's probably older than a lot of the people posting on these forums now, so he's hardly going to still be "the annoying little kid" is he?

Funnily enough, that film was meant to be longer but due to budgetary restrictions it was shorter with an entirely unsatisfactory conclusion.
I thought the film, apart from the botched ending and the uneccessary re-going over of the Spock/Sarek differences was rather good.
Have to say that I wasn't fussed over Wesley returning - after all he not gonna be a typical brattish yank teenage this time is he?
But in any even Nemesis is looking very promising from the trailer.
LOL or check his site out and see what he looks like now..
Wil Wheatons Site (http://wilwheaton.net/)
I hated every episode with westley in it and I agree with his chop! :D
However, after rewatching old episodes of next gen I now tend to think Voyager is a lot better ... next gen has dated really badly.
I actually prefer DS9 (well series 4-7) i liked the story-arc in the background made it similar to the best - Babylon 5

Agreed, what a plonker!!!!
Yes, in season 2 she was replaced by a complete shmuck! But the original actress (Gates McFadden) was back by season 3
Dr Pulaski was brought in as a poor (wo)man's Bones - to add some caustic wit and stir things up.
Didn't really work though I think that at least the woman who played her could act - unlike Gates McFadden who took about 4 seasons to learn her part!
PS Babylon 5 is boring and overated with dreadful special effects. ;)

Hope your joking.. B5 has a way better continuing Story-Arc over the series rather than usually crappy episodes of Star Trek.. some are good but majority are just boring and have crap effects ;)
DS9 and B5 - what rubbish! - well the episodes I watched anyway. :D

Ever been locked in an elevator with an angry Narn...
When he starts saying things like:
"You will know fear, then you will know pain, then you will die"
Start worrying......;)
I actually don't mind his character Wesley Crusher. Probably something to do with being a similar age when I watched it and also wanting to be geeky :dork:
Anyway - the Will you be in any of the movies (http://wilwheaton.net/faq.php#trek) answer cracked me up - he's a funny guy I tells ya :)

Diana Muldaur played Dr Pulaski. Older forum members may remember in the days before she was "an old bag", particularly playng the Sarge's girlfriend in Hill Street Blues where she used to delight in giving him wood, in the station house, every chance she got. And she was very, very good at it!

I actually remember liking her in the next gen (can't stand to watch most of the episodes now, but some are alright)
Diana Muldaur... she was also LA Law wasn't she - the one who was killed by falling/being pushed down a lift shift .
