Question:
Having just watched the utterly brilliant yet totally depressing Threads, it led me to wondering when we're going to see a release of Miracle Mile, starring Anthony Edwards.
I saw this film about a year ago, and thought it mixed the drama/romane genre with the disaster movie absolutely amazingly, and was really shocking and hard-hitting to boot.
I want it now!
Great movie. Keeping hold of my pre-recorded VHS until they wise up and release this classic. Awesome Tangerine Dream soundtrack. I’m sure Antony Edwards would be up for a commentary track along with Steve de Jarnatt. Maybe Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) could also be tempted?
Get Peter Watkins' The War Game when it comes out in October from the BFI. An absolutely devastating masterpiece about the effects of a nuclear strike against Britain.
This is one of my fave films ever. I'd certainly buy it, even with no extras!
I love that film too! Saw it at the cinema when it was first released. It took me ages to track down an ex-rental VHS copy of it, as it was never released on sell-thru on video.
A widescreen DVD w/commentary would be great.
Keeping my ex-rental VHS of this too until it gets a DVD release.
I watched Threads just the other month too stigdu and it is a BRILLIANT TV drama.
thought I'd drag this up from the depths, as MGM have just announced that they'll be releasing Miracle Mile on region 1, June 3rd!
unfortunately, it looks like it'll be bare bones (just a trailer) & pan & scam  :nono:

Spooky, I was just thinking would this ever get a release just last night while filling in my top 20 films in that new database.
Great news that they are finally releasing it, I've been waiting for this since I got a DVD player. Can't believe they are releasing it Pan & Scan :gag:
What a missed opportunity :(
Boo Hiss. But, at least it will get a release......
Wonderful film! Saw this many years ago at a UK film festival...i have fond memories of a group of big biker guys in the row in front trying to hold back the tears at the end!

I'm sure it will get a R2 OAR release eventually. We may have to wait another 12 months or something, but I sure it will happen.
Till then I will have to manage with my terrible quality Ex-Rental VHS. :gag:
Hopefully this may turn out to be open-matte rather than P&S.
According to a (rather heated) thread on home theaterforum it will be open matte but it is slightly cropped in places presumably to avoid equipment/boom mikes etc etc
