Question:
Let me start off by saying Clint Eastwood does a great job with this movie. It has been ages since i've seen a film like this with all the blockbusters coming out this year.
I'm just gonna sum it up real quick to avoid spoiling it.
Its a story of an FBI agent (Eastwood) that has an heart failure while on the job. He has an heart transplant only to find he has one last crime to solve
Major Spoilers
It starts off with Eastwood trying to catch a murderer, while chasing him down an alleyway he has an heart failure, before he does he manages to get a shot on the killer. When he comes out of hospital he suspects that killer just strolled off and died somewhere. He then gets a visit from the sister of the woman that gave him the heart transplant. She wants him to work on one last case of trying to find the person who killed her sister (turns out its the same person) So he gets his mate Jeff Danieils to drive him around everywhere. Towards the end he comes to pay Jeff Daniels with a check. The number on the check turns out to be the code that was written on the wall right at the beginning. So Eastwood goes over to Daniels boat and asked him to take his top off. And yeah you guessed it he has a bullet scar on his back.
There is more to it than just what i have said in the spoiler but if you like crime solving mystery type films you'll enjoy this.
I admit the trailer doesn't do it justice and it is far better than Space Cowboys
Did he direct that? Not sure whether he did or not
Anyway 2 thumbs up from me and well worth a watch
For me it was thrilling to again really feel a Clint Eastwood movie. Everything about it felt familiar, like home. The opening jazzy music which he incorporates in all of his films, the lone title and quick beginning, the story is familiar, he's a retired former FBI agent with cops and others not liking him very much. Just give him a bigger gun and change to former cop, moving setting from LA to San Francisco and you got yourself Dirty Harry 6.
The concept is interesting, but I won't talk about it because trailers were great at not showing you anything, it's very well written and you don't have to worry about its masterful directing. It's a nice, old fashioned detective story, less action, more suspense, I really liked it. Major supporting role is played by Jeff Daniels who's a very underrated actor and shows that here again.
With it's down to earth, realistic investigation, whenever a bit of action comes up, you feel thrilled and in the moment, intense, it's very well done.
cant wait to watch this ... Clints fantastic!
Lenny any ideas when we will be seeing this on dvd???

It hasn't been announced yet but a tentative release should be in December.
I've read the book, and I never envisaged Clint Eastwood playing the lead....I just don't think he's that great an actor (apart from in Unforgiven)
Picked this up in the HMV sale and really enjoyed it. It was predictable
(I sussed that Jeff Daniels was the killer within about 10 minutes of him appearing on screen)
and it made me laugh out loud in a few places with how ridiculous it was but that's all part of the charm :D
It was OK - Clint's so good it's difficult to dislike any of his films, but it was a bit lightweight compared to the likes of Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven.
Whatever happened to Lenny Nero?
agree with squirrel good about it being predictable, enjoyed it but spent most of the film waiting for clint eastwoods character to play catch up with the viewer
