Mulholland Drive R2 Rental Release
Question:

Hired this last nigh (big mistake - why in hells name do people make films just to confuse the life out of the viewer) and noticed you can't skip chapters!?!

Answers:

David Lynch likes it that way - interestingly enough, I've read a few places that he doesn't like multi-chanel audio, and yet it has a DD5.1 track (sorely lacking in bass oomph though).

Answers:

I'd stick with the R1 then, DTS too.

From what I've read, it's not that he doesn't like multi-channel sound per se, it's that he doesn't like the over-use of it.
He mentioned in an interview recently that his concern is over-doing the rear channels, as it pulls the viewer's attention away from the focus of the screen making it a less immersive experience in his opinion. That's presumably why the mixes for his movies are more subtle than some in their use of the surrounds.

Another movie talking about dreams. Never woke up wondering the meaning of your dream ?
French R2 will be loaded. Best edition by far.

That's probably more like it, I was over-simplifying there :) I did notice that there was hardly anything in the rears, and it didn't seem like the sub was used at all - the car crash was weak sounding to say the least.

Not on my set up it wasn't!!! People came rushing in from the rest of the house as they thought something had crashed through the wall!

Does the R2 have the "digital fuzzing" in the nude scene?

It was quite late at night when I watched it - I might have had the sound turned down - but I watched fight Club right after it, and the plane crash was fine even at low volume.
