Blade runner - Original version
Question:

Is it possible to get the theatrical version of blade runner on DVD.
All I can find is the Directors cut. I love this movie with the voiceover, but find the directors cut boring.
Ok, I know I must be the lowest common denominator that is too thick to 'get' the movie without the commentary and the happy ending, but heh, I just happen to prefer that version!
Oh, enough rambling, can I get it?

Answers:

there is a 3 disc set planned for next year and it may contain the orig theatrical release

Answers:

I dont think its available anymore mate, its just the Directors cut as its what most people want. but i do have a copy of the theatrical version i no longer want, if you cant find it anywhere get in touch and we can sort a trade or something.

Answers:

I actaully like both versions but as I "grew up" with the theatrical release I'm quite fond of it :)
I'm hoping it's with the planned release next year.

Answers:

I think thats unlikely... the new DVD will have a newer version that even the Director's Cut, with even more scenes added.
happily I kept my pre-recorded video tape of the original version, given away free with the game 3-4 years ago.

Answers:

I think the Directors cut is slightly better, but I don't mind the theatrical release.

Answers:

yeah the DC is a lot better, actully changes the whole film quite a bit and doesnt just fix little plot holes like most DCs / SEs.
well i think it maybe on the new DVD set, why would it be a 3 disc set ?
the so called DC isnt actually Scotts preferred version is it ? Scotts preferred version will be the one released next year on DVD.

Answers:

I got a criterion CAV WS LD of the theatrical cut, with voice over and happy ending and all, it's of great quality!
Like both so Dir's Cut DVD is mine as well of course, and if the new DVD edition won't have either of these versions, me and you all better hold on to them.
