Question:
In another shameless plug, my newest review The Last Detail, available to read here (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=999&story=3501) at DVD Times, contains one of Jack Nicholson's finest performances, and yet they all merge into one in the memory.
So my top five Nicholson performances are (in on order):
Batman
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
The Last Detail (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=999&story=3501)
Terms Of Endearment
Chinatown
What about you guys?
Chinatown
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
A Few Good Men
Hoffa
The Pledge
Batman(best comic villian to film performance)
The Shining (best performance in the horror genre)
A few good men (brief, but my god, only takes 3 strong scenes as the man says himself) "You want the truth, you can't handle the truth" People I know you don't know good acting much, marvel at that scene, still remember some comments in high school about it, normally back then, no one was talking about courtroom type dramas, Jack changed that)
As Good as it Gets (Oscar performance, but most of his are, but in this one, its a enjoyable, not dramatic, which made his performance exceptional.
Wolf- He really looks like a Wolf in a way, if he was in his 20s now, I would put him 1st to play Wolverine in X Men, but as werewolves go, he did a great job, looks like a Wolf too.
The Pledge-heard good things about it, yet to see it.
And other films menstioned just as great, can't really say anything negative, just bloody great at it, some dramas I don't want to watch much again, but his screen presense and acting is a actions scene by itself.
