Question:
I was just having a think about this and just wondered what TV shows everyone else would like to see released on DVD. For me it would have to be the following: -
Between the Lines : Series 1 & 2 - Excellent BBC cop thriller from some years ago that should have finished after the shocking climax to Series 2.
The Nightmare Man - Superb Robert Holmes (Doctor Who) scripted thriller about a killer on the loose on a remote Scottish Island.
Armchair Thrillers - Wonderfully spooky series from ITV. I especially remember one of the shows which I think was called "The Black Nun" which terrified me.
The Phil Silvers Show. :)
Northern Exposure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kinvig.
Fireball XL5
Kolchak and Hill Street Blues.
Seinfeld !
All nine series of it .
Seinfeld.
I want it now!
Brimstone
Quantum Leap
DarkAvenger, it was called ""Quiet as a Nun" (although the character in question was the Black Nun). It was an excellent show - one of the most frightening TV programmes ever, it still works pretty well now, more than twenty years later.
Hancock's Half Hour
Adam Adamant Lives
Doomwatch
Smallpox 2002

Space: Above and Beyond definately. There were some rumours that it was in the offing but whoever owns the rights wanted some ridiculous amount of money for it and that was the end of that. Cannot remember where I heard it though.

Is anyone else heartened by the pricing trend on TV material?
Sure, we started off with things like The X-Files at 70-odd quid, but now we're starting to see online deals for seasons of M*A*S*H at £17, 24 for just over £30, and 32 one-hour episodes of The Outer Limits for £26.
DVD strikes me as having a similar future to the CD format, where the disks cost so little to produce that virtually everything you could want will eventually be available - sometimes created for just very a small number of fans.
Hopefully companies will keep their prices low and continue pouring out TV shows, and I can indulge myself with other excellent series such as Homicide, Magnum PI, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Hawaii Five-0, etc...

Six Feet Under
Scrubs

Shows that have and I can't wait for:
The West Wing: Season 2 part 1/2
The Sopranos: The Complete Third Season (not long to wait now :))
Sports Night
Shows that I would like re-released/released in the UK/US:
ER
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (don't mind too much about the ratio but I need the proper theme tune.
I want to see Roswell and Dawson's Creek boxsets. My life would be complete if they came out soon (yes, I am that sad).
Plans for Dawson's to be released are underway for anyone that's interested, but in a survey they asked questions like "Would you like to see DVDs of specific character episodes, or specific themes?" so I am worried. I just want season boxsets from the beginning dammit, is that too much to ask?

I just hope they don't miss out the often overlooked first season, with Law & Order's Steven Hill in charge of the team instead of Peter Graves as Jim Phelps.
Next to Star Trek, Mission: Impossible's one of Paramount's biggest series, and there's already a line of popular "Best Of" videos in the US. Hopefully we'll see the first season sets before the next Tom Cruise feature, and that Fight Club's David Fincher can come up with something more in-keeping with the original show than John Woo.

I saw the Steven Hill Mission:Impossible shows for the first time during the re-runs a few years back and was pleasantly surprised; some were pretty good (and any compilation DVD set must include the very first episode!).
Haven't seen the movies. And from what I've read I don't want to. I gather the only thing they've got in common with the series is the name. Didn't Greg Morris (Barney) actually walk out of a preview screening in disgust?

Out of many of the tv series in the 80s, this one has a cinematic and ground breaking production, with its cars, stories, setting, and music, if BBC could get the rights to show it on tv again, would do good for its explosure, especially with Michael Mann making a Miami Vice film, updating it etc.

Well I want the complete Eric Thompson narrated Magic Roundabout. I watched some of the horrible Nigel Planer ones last night on Cartoon Network followed by some even worse voiced episodes by people who shall remain nameless (only because the episodes were creditless).
Don't think anyone's mentioned this, but it's just been announced that the first season of cult cop show Baretta is coming to US, region 1 DVD on 29th October.
The full story's here...
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com
Baretta's presumably being released to cash in on the current notoriety of star Robert Blake, who has been charged with murdering his wife.
If they're releasing a season set of this show for that reason, it suggests to me that we'll eventually see series with any sort of hardcore following released on DVD.

The full story's here...

Baretta's presumably being released to cash in on the current notoriety of star Robert Blake, who has been charged with murdering his wife.
If they're releasing a season set of this show for that reason, it suggests to me that we'll eventually see series with any sort of hardcore following released on DVD.
