Question:
I have seen quite a lot excellent views about this series, has anyone had glimpses of it before, it looks like it will cost around th £50 mark. A lot of dosh if it's not that good.
Its the best TV series ever made IMO - its a 10 hour film of the highest quality, simple as that!
is it a uk or us mini series?

US Mini series - how much do you actually know about it?
not a lot.......just seen reviews, and it is tempting me on buying it, I like war films, what will be the best R1 or R2, or both.

Well here is a quick rundown of the basics:
Produced by Spielberg/Tom Hanks
Most expensive TV series ever made
Based around a unit in the US army (Easy Company)
Action sequences match up to Saving Private Ryan (whole film is shot in the same style as SPR)
I'd recommend R1 as I believe it has the better packaging (arrives in a metal tin which I believe the R2 is missing) and will probably be cheaper as well.
it's way better than spr, there is none of the meandering plot and oversentimentality that hampered the movie.

So this mean the R2 just comes in a cardboard case? Also will the Region 2 have DTS?
Regardless of whichever Region you buy it will be equally as expensive.
Has the Region 2 been confirmed as having DTS?
I really would like DTS.........and the metal tin. Looks like i'll be getting Region 1

What about the value? over £18 will be charged VAT etc.......
Any way around this?
Best TV series ever - without a doubt - I'm still thinking about it nearly a year after watching it!
I'm a R2 only man and will be buying it on R2 - I believe that R2 has the same metal tin packaging and same extras. There was a thread last week where some guy said he had received an e-mail fro Warner Bros confirming this.
Quite simply one of the best series ever made!!
the episode where they find the concentration camp made me weep it was so moving
Definatley a must buy!!!!
I concur, the best TV series ever made.
Personally I couldn't give a toss about a metal tin though as it's still got one of those hideous digipack type sleeves inside.

Order from somewhere like DVD Box Office, DVD Soon (if you keep your order between 1-3 DVDs), *********, Play or Future Entertainment as these guys all avoid you any customs fees. But a lot of places haven't listed it yet as it hasn't officially been announced so you'll have to wait a little to order it for R1.
this is the dvd i want more than any other, the days are crawling by.
Yes it has been officially announced.. LAst week in fact.. Digital bits had the info and all the extras-Audio-video info last week so sites should be adding it soon..
