if Im right with the plot the film was about
a man finding a woman through auditioning, having a few dates and then having a 25 minute nightmare about her at the end
or am i wrong? either way it was still crap! :) and the subtitles on the R3 release appear to have been written by a 10 year old! :D

thats not true ... i usually like what gets recommended on here. (maybe its true about liking films others dont though :D)



I thought Audition was great. Have you tried Parting Shots?

It's been a while since I've seen the film but IIRC, the 'dream' sequence was a tacked-on plot twist. I think he's hallucinating whilst being tortured, so the dream sequence is <I>actually</I> a dream sequence.
I hope that makes sense to you, cos it doesn't to me.



The only thing I didn't like about this film was the damned subs (a pox on you Tartan!) :D

Audition is on of the best films I've seen.
I think the dream sequence is a hallucination bought on by the stuff slipped into his drink to paralyse him.

I was expecting quite a bit more after all the hype, but the finale made it all worth while - you go girl! :D

Honestly no - but the ending was just so...so...well you know :nuts:



I have just seen this and I have to admit I am confused as to whats going on at the end but considering this a takashi miike movie I know your not meant to understand all of it, the guy's a nutter I tell ya! :D
The story to this is a very average revenge psycho thriller but Miike does take it up a peg or two so not all is lost.



I also thought it was a ***** film - very boring indeed ... althought I usually like Japanese movies. Kurosawa and Kitano are gods.



I didn't think it lived up to the hype, but the ending had an impressive "Shock" :eek: quality to it ....
If they were ever to do a Hollywood remake, which actor would people like to see get "punished" at the end? ... and by whom?
My vote goes to Adam Sandler ... that sure would wipe the smirk off his face :clap:

IT was a difficult film to watch, the past scene is I gringed a few times, and thinking to myself I can't bear to watch this again. So I sold it on Ebay the next day - Double the amount I paid for it!
