Question:
Special edition,double-disc set will be launched on Region 2 DVD on Septemeber 30th.
1.37:1 Apsect and 5.1 sound.
30 minutes of new footage and 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes bonuses.
"Running,Jumping and Standing still" short film.
I have the Japanese Region 2 release but will still welcome a spec ed.
:D
Sounds good - I have pre-ordered the R4 from Devoted; works out at around a tenner with free shipping. Supposedly the set will be the same in all regions.
ive got the dutch DTS edition anamorphic pic very nice no extras but who cares its DTS! Bought 6 months ago!

Who does care? It's a nearly forty-year-old film! What possible difference would DTS make?
I can't believe I'm the only one who thinks that older films would be far better served by a PCM mono soundtrack - that way you reproduce pretty much every nuance of the original without resorting to compression.
And I'd far rather have a top-quality reproduction of the original soundtrack than an inappropriate surround-sound remix - most of which betray their mono roots all too clearly.
Hmmm... €17 quite cheap! Almost as cheap as the R4. I think the jury's still out on what AR the "English" R1/2/4 releases will be in. Any one know?

Devoted have it at around £11-ish, and it's on it's way from the antipodes as I write, way ahead of the release date. Fab. Gear.
Later; Oh dear, I didn't quite believe this, so emailed Glenn and it turns out that 'shipped' in my account details, doesn't mean shipped, it means 'charged'. So why doesn't it say ruddy charged...

So many films, so little time...

Yep as proved by the 1940 Fanatasia DVD release which was DTS and all the action took place in the Front Speakers. Complete waste of time......

Actually, Fantasia was originally mixed in multitrack sound, so a 5.1 (or rather 5.0) presentation was entirely justified. But I agree with you: there was no audible difference between the Dolby Digital and DTS tracks that I could detect!

completely agree, although the vertigo 5.1 mix is quite good
