this film would have been so much better if the revenge scenes were as nasty as the rape scenes ... I'll stick with my French version.

There is no uncut version of Angel of Vengeance on DVD, sadly. I want to see it. Now. ;)

Sounds like a good disc. I might pick up a copy. Are there likely to be any problems getting this through customs?

I don't think there will be to be honest. :)

Have you ever heard of the Swedish revenge film They Call Her One Eye aka Thriller, Paul? I own the uncut VHS (although it is in Swedish), and it was supposed to have been released on DVD. I was hoping someone else had heard of it.
BTW Please do some more horror reviews! :D

I wouldn't bet on it - Customs are well aware of this particular title and also why it's caused problems with the BBFC.
Although they're a lot more lenient when it comes to plain vanilla porn, I think they still have guidelines concerning films depicting extreme sexual violence - which is very much the case here, and the Straw Dogs defence doesn't apply (in that case, while the video version had been refused a BBFC certificate, it was passed for theatrical screenings, so Customs were happy to let it through)
Of course, I'm happy to be proved wrong - so what's your source for this confident claim?

I'll think about it. The next one I do will probably be for Hitch-Hike. ;)
Michael Brooke: Well, I think if you use the right suppliers, you'll be OK (and don't put it in a huge package with "Sick Last House on the Left film". ;) (IMHO of course)
I would actually be far more worried getting DVDs like that from Europe than the States/Canada (like when I got my second copy of LHOTL from Belgium.

Where would you reccommend? I usually use dvdboxoffice but they don't have it listed at the moment.

Indeed! So there's more than one fan of his work? I'm amazed!
(Looking at what else he's appeared in, LHOTL, HOTEOTP and HH look to be the best ones - which is a shame. ;)

Odd but true:
He used to write songs for Elvis Presley!!
I can't wait for the dvd to come out...Amazon are normally ok at this...just don't buy the express shipping option cause then it enters Germany before it doe's here...cutting down the chances of it being siezed.

Hm. Very strange Rob mate - didn't know you liked The Last House on the Left that much. I do remember you saying you had the French disc though.
And I am a huge fan of David A. Hess. ;)
You don't seem to visit our club much...

Whenever I get to the club and try to post anything Microsoft goe's nuts on me...
The main reason why I'm waiting for the dvd is not for a great liking of the film but because Craven said that he wouldn't talk about the film ever.
Its sad that they didn't use Hess' personal print, he claims to have a full version...therefore no real need for cuts.

Answers:

I did hear that David A. Hess was doing bootlegs of the uncut version actually.

Answers:

It really doe's sound like Hess' is hard up for cash nowadays...
last story I heard of him selling anything was at a film fair when he was forcing last house on the left soundtracks onto anyone who came anywhere near his stall.
Looks like he got screwed over when sorting out anykind of royalty agreement cause I can't see these low budget films giving him a high pay-deal.

Answers:

If that's true, it's a shame.
