Question:
just thinking
seeing as you can add a mike to a PC very easily - is there any software which will read the sound from each speaker and then tell you whats wrong with it and how it should be adjusted ?
Not just sound levels but things like subb roll and stuff
Interesting idea.
I seem to remember that one of the more expensive home cinema amps could be set up with a microphone, you placed it in your listening position and it sorted out all the speaker delays etc, not quite as advanced as what you were talking about though.
I think that the quality of recording possible and the fact that every PC and mike would give slightly different recordings might make something as advanced as you were talking about very difficult though.
oh well
never mind - just thought could be good idea
If you were any good at programming it shouldn't be too difficult to write your own software.
I take it you'll want to run phase test & volume levels?
