Could anyone recommend a amp which does the component switching thing/video format thing.............??
I am looking at getting a plasma and I only have a yammy dsp-a5 amp,while I was at 7oaks the other day was told that if i get a amp that does this i would only need 1 cable running to the plasma????(they recommended the Denon 3803 850 squids!!)
Digital Direct are listing it at 539.02 but i cant find if you have to add vat?
They are also listing it as a 3802?????????????????????
obviously i need to upgrade me old dvd too!!!

I think only the 3803 and one of the other Denon amps (I think it's the top of the line model) do video upconversion. The 3803 is the replacement for the 3802 (which doesn't do video conversion)
It will convert any incoming composite/svideo signal into a component output signal so all composite/svideo/component devices can be plugged in and a signal component output piped to the plasma.
This will only convert interlaced signals (as composite/svideo cannot be progressive) and i'm not sure if it will pass progressive component through.
