No speakers on Earth can make the Cheeky Girls sound enjoyable :|

Exactly!
Oh and I'm going to move this to the hardware forum for now...

I've got Yamaha speakers and they sound brilliant for their size. They are definitely not bass-light either, which is essential. I assume you are looking for ones which plug into the mains ... the ones which run only on the power of the cd player are all terrible.
blah blah! can anyone recomend me one? i don't know a lot, i just want 2 b able 2 hear the sound nice and loudly! what wld the price range i shld b thinking of?
What sort of size?
For properly portable, something like the Creative Travelsound (http://uk.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?prod=333) are great for the size.
Otherwise, any mains-powered computer speakers will do a decent job.

You can forget anyone helping you out with that sort of approach. I'd suggest you go to your nearest Dixons, I'm sure they'll be very helpful. Either that or pull your finger out and search the internet.
