Question:
Hi, I have just got the green light to get Sky+ financially and I am wondering if it is worth me getting it now or should I wait for a new Sky+ box to get released?
Opinions are required.....
I believe new subscribers to Sky+ do get the newest version of the box, and don't know of any new box in the offing, although someone else might.
An officially supported hard drive upgrade would be nice, along with a software update that reflects the insertion of a larger hard drive for those of us whose Sky+ box has gone out of warranty (4 months left on mine). Last time I read up on the subject, the percentage counter doesn't work correctly if a larger hard drive is installed, so auto deletion needs to be turned off to preserve recordings.
Have a look through PlusWorld (http://www.plusworld.co.uk), there may be news on there about new Sky+ boxes, also check out the "Personal Video Recorders" of the DigitalSpy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk) forum. :D

I have a feeling though because I am only on a basic package this may not apply to me.
I have also been reading about a V2 Sky+ box..What is the difference between this and a V1?
Also, worst case scenario how much time for recording can you get on a standard Sky+ box?
As far as I know the new Skyplus box is the same inside as the old one, the change's are purely cosmetic
SKY+ offers an average of 20 hours recording time.The new box is only in a smaller case as far as I know.Everything else is the same.Even with the £10 a month its worth it.It will literally change the way you watch tv.
