How can I reconnect SKY satellite dish cable
Question:

Darn,
I just sliced thru' the SKY cable leading from the satellite dish to the digibox (with the hedge clippers). Removing all the shielding and twisting the central wire together didn't work. Is there an easy fix or else what should I ask for down at the electrical shop. Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers :)

If you've got enough money ring Sky and explain and they'll send someone round to fix it. Otherwise go down to the electrical shop and ask them for Digital Satellite cable wire, and they should know what you mean an make you one up, then you just connect it all back up.

Moving.

You can buy an 'F' type joint connecter. After the joint is made finish it with self amalgamating tape.

That'll be because the shielding is part of the circuit I believe so that needs to be connected as well?
As said, get some F-type connector gadgets and join them together. Or you could just replace the whole cable.
No need to call Sky so long as you haven't moved the dish.

I'd just replace the cable. No need to get Sky involved and it's easy enough to do.

Thanks guys,
on my way to the shops now. I'll try the F-type connectors first and think about replacing the cable later.
