Question:
Anyone got any experience of the Grundig GDT2000? Dixons have them for £89.99, has scart pass through so was considering getting one.
Any views?
It's toss - don't bother and get either the Nokia or Netgem boxes.
The Goodmans I tried has shockingly slow firmware and was prone to hourly lock-ups when using menus.
Are you sure you've got the name and model correct?
GDT2000 = Grundig
Goodmans = GDB2
The Goodmans (for a short time) are sending V3.0 of their firmware out, although if you have access to a 9-Pin serial cable to do do it via PC (info in DS forums)
Had a play about with a Grundig GDT2000 recently, and it's ok, I'm a Sky man so I don't know what you should be expecting a freeview box to do.
Yes I did get it wong, have now altered it.
That's a good price - not forgetting, of course, that Grundig have gone into liquidation, although their digibox empire was taken over by Thomson last year, so should still be supported :)
I've got it and I think it's brilliant.
On the same shelf they had a Ferguson model which looked identical but costs £129.99 ??? And I mean absolutely identical except for the word Grundig being replaced with Ferguson.
Not quite sure why this would be.
Ferguson digiboxes are just re-badged, same as the Grundig ones - all Thomson boxes at the end of the day :)
Took my Thomson back as it locked up when navigating the TV guide. Replaced it with the Netgem which is better in every way possible and far better built.
i changed my thomson for a panasonic, the bnest box out there!!!! :clap:
I have seen many postings saying that the Panasonic boxes had quite bad sound quality, is that not the case?
