Freeview box - how can I connect a video recorder?
Question:

I bought my Dad one of the Panasonic boxes for his birthday, and set it up (very quickly) for him last night.

Today he has called me to ask how to video from it.
The way I connected the box was not linking it to the vieo at all - it is simply connected to his TV via the AV2 channel (with AV1 being his video).
The Panasonic box has just one scart connector on the back as I recall, so is it possible to connect this box to a video recorder AND his AV2 channel on the TV at the same time?
Would a scart-splitter box work if I were to connect as follows;
PANASONIC -> SCART SPLITTER -> TV & VIDEO RECORDER
Thanks for any advice.

Couple of suggestions:
1. If you video has two scart sockets you could plug the Freeview Box into the Scart in on the VCR and then take a second scart out of the VCR into the TV.
2. You could get 3 Scart to phono leads with 9 Couplers. Plug one scart into the Freeview box and one into the VRC the other into the TV.
Plug the Video \ Audio Out of the Freeview Scart into the Video \ Auidio in of the VCR Scart and then plug the VCR Video \ Audio out into the Video \ Audio In of the scart thats plugged into the TV. I doubt you would lose to much picture quality.
3. A splitter would probably work to!

Answers:

the video may have a second scart which may help,
freeview>video>TV
or if you have RF output then connect rf from freeview>video>tv

The VCR does have two scarts.
If I connect as above (Freeview -> VCR - TV), am I correct in thinking to watch Freeview he would have to do so via the VCR (ie have the VCR on and watch it through a VCR channel)?

Answers:

The VCR normaly would need to be switched on and the AV1 \ AV2 channel selected to watch freeview. I havent seen a video that allows scart pass through.
