Compacks DVD5000 - they're all VCR friendly
Question:

One of our visitors discovered that, despite previous reports, all Compacks DVD5000 players are VCR friendly, you just have to tweak a setting on the remote control when wiring through a VCR :
Connect your player to VCR by SCART and turn your Compacks DVD5000 on
Set TV to AV1 or AV2 (if connected by SCART from VCR to TV) or your usual video channel (if connected by RF lead) so that you can see the Compack DVD5000's display on your TV screen
Press the MODE button in the bottom right hand corner of the remote control so that RGB is displayed in the top left hand corner of the TV screen. The signal corruption will kick in if either S-VIDEO or YUV is displayed
Remember to check your audio settings, so that SPDIF is set to OFF, and Speaker Settings is set to either LT/RT or STEREO (otherwise you will have no audio)
This will assist those of you who don't have a SCART socket on your TV ;)

Cheers I can confirm this works for me. Just tried Godzilla again via scart and set to rgb and it works macrovision is disabled.
Seems similar to those little Cyberhome CH400 units as they have macrovision disabled in the same way I think plus they have that seamless branching problem too I think.
