Question:
Hi
I managed to break my remote by hitting the Xbox pad with it (don't ask) and I'd like to know where I can buy another, or even if Marantz would replace it as it's under 12 months old.
Any feedback appreciated!
Cheers
Replacement OEM remotes normally cost around £30, if you can find someone to supply it. I would try your local Marantz dealer.
Or you could look for a Marantz learning remote such as the RC1200 which comes pre-programmed with Marantz codes as well as being able to learn other equipment. There is one on Ebay at the moment, or they are approx £60 from http://www.vickers-hifi.co.uk
I've always thought that if a remote went wrong then I'd put the money towards a Pronto (which I want to get eventually anyway) and download the codes from somewhere.
Althought perhaps a Pronto isn't a good idea if you plan on hitting consoles with it ;)
Thanks for the advice.
I'm trying the retailer I bought it from to see if they will send me a new one ....
As a matter of interest how much is the Pronto and is it one of these flash looking hand helds that allows you to control everything down to the dimming of the lights ??
Yes a Pronto is one of those - assuming you have X10 fittings on your lights.
The Pronto has been as cheap as £99 but is around £150 at most places now.
There are various other learning remotes that can control anything - the RC1200 is one example - but there are few that have the programmability of the Pronto range.
