Question:
My poor Naiko has died after only 18 months... and so I must replace it hastily.
I want the usual things, that is, everything! DTS, CDR, CDRW, VCD, SVCD, MP3, multiregion, macrovison disabling and so on. And I want it cheap(ish).
I have been considering these:
Cyberhome 400 - £50
Toshiba SD330 - £80
Kiss DP450 - £150ish - Has DivX playback!!
Kiss DP500 - £200ish - Has DivX playback (and an Ethernet connection thing which I can't really see the point in)!!
LiteOn Multi-format - £150ish - Has DivX playback!!
Now I would rather like DivX playback so the last 3 are tempting, but very much more expensive. They are also firmware upgradeable which must be a good thing?
So can anybody please help with my choice, with comments on the above or recommend something else altogether?
Thanks,
Sb
I've got the Cyberhome 400, it's played everything i've thrown at it, even plays JPEGs.
:)
Ebuyer.com have a DivX capable player ( a Umax) under £120.
This is firmware upgradeable.
The Umax/Yamada players have been very positively reviewed and tend to play almost all formats including JPEGs , MP3 on DVD-R etc etc.. They come multiregion as standard too.
Does look tempting... can you point me to a review at all? I can't seem to find any.
Cheers!
